Our old GE Washer was very old but was still working well. We were at the appliance store looking for other appliances and saw this set and decided we ought to replace it before we started having problems. The new one washes very well and is much quieter than the old one.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I purchased this washer online a week ago and I am completely satisfied with this purchase.
My previous washer was very loud and annoying. When it finished spinning the clutch made such a loud noise I thought my clothes were being thrown in the floor. This washer is so quiet I've actually had to go listen to see if it's running. And the spin cycle; you never hear it stop.
I purchased this washer after reading numerous reviews and I feel I made the right decision.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Happy with my new washer!

My new washer works very well. Not too loud, until the final spin cycle, and even then it is fairly quiet. I enjoy the various control options and like the high efficiency features.

VERY DISAPPOINTED

I purchased the washer along with the dryer in October of 2014. It took two weeks for it to arrive and be installed in my home. On the first day that I went to use the washer, it was out of control. The spin cycle made me think the washer drum was going to fly out of the unit. The spin cycle was so loud and banging it was scary. I immediately shut it down and called the GE repair department. I received prompt service to look at the washer. Then it took two weeks for the part to arrive and be installed. The service company came and took away the washer from my home to make the repair. It was returned the next day. The washer worked great. NOW two months later, the washer failed again. My wife was washing sheets and when the washer cycle was done the sheets were still wet. She used the drain and spin cycle to get the water out, this is when she realized the spin was not working. The motor seemed to doing its job, but not activating the drum. So I called again... I hope this time it is fixed for many years to come. The GE factory repair folks are helpful, but I am not sure about the product. Good luck

Very Nice machine, runs very quiet, very impressed. Nice to be able to add clothes without waiting for a locked lid to release.

GE Washer

Washer takes to long to wash clothes and spins to fast and wrinkles clothes. Some clothes are so wrinkled they wrinkles don't come out in the dryer and now I have to iron. Drain hose is to short and you removed the hook so there is no way to hook it over the sink to drain water. The aditator has an opening at the bottom of the fins/blades and skinny straps get hung there and are stretched out of shape, also buttons some times.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not what I expected from GE...

This machine is very noisy. It makes loud mechanical shifting-gear noises when it shifts from on gear to another. The spin cycle is also very loud and the cylinder spins too fast. I like the large container but during the wash cycle the agitator does move very fast so I don't think the cloths are getting very clean.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
