this washer required multiple service calls for weak agitation while in the wash cycle, excessive noise, and a broken belt.
I was disappointed in the quality of the product.

water PROBLEMS

Purchased this product with SS connectors, store installed. With-in one month product was leaking at inlet valve (3 times). Hose came completely off machine and flooded my garage. GE service came out and replaced with rubber hoses which worked great for several months. Hot water hose is leaking again at machine inlet, replacing inlet valve today and hope this is the end of this headache. Previous GE washer lasted almost 20 years with minor part replacements that I was able to fix myself.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This washer gets all my laundry very clean. HOWEVER, it is very hard on much of my clothing and linens. The small amount of water used causes the fabrics to be pulled and twisted so much that many of my towels and washcloths are now ragged on the edges. It also causes the waistline cords/ties on shorts and sweatpants to become tangled and wrap around the agitator, pulling things out of shape. Saving water in the washing machine is not practical if I have to replace these items frequently. I don't like the "auto soak" feature or the limited "pause" time. I would prefer to control the soak time myself. And if I need to stop the washer for a more than a few minutes it automatically drains, wasting both water and detergent. I chose this machine over the front loader so I could dye fabric, starch doilies and curtains, and gently wash my the quilts my mother and grandmother made. I can't do any of those things with this washer. In the 50 years that I have been doing laundry, this is the most disappointing product I have purchased.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This washer is so quiet I had to lift the lid to see if it was working. It has old style and some new style features that make it perfect for this electronically challenged gal. I just love it.
