Love all the feature this washing machine has!

The machine is quite and does take a little longer than our previous machine to complete a wash cycle; however, the clothes come out almost dry, thus taking less time in the dryer which saves on the life of the clothes. We like the large capacity size of the tub and now can wash our comforter in it without have to go to a laundry mat.
I would recommend this to a friend!

GE Wassher

Not at all happy with this washer. With the size of the drum it looks like you can get a big load of wash done; however this is not the case. Looks are deceiving.

Excellent Washer - Lets You Choose Water Level
on September 5, 2015

If you haven't purchased a washer in the last 5-10 years, beware that there have been two significant changes to top loading washers. First, almost all top loaders have ONLY auto load sensing now that determines the amount of water that will be used for the load. Second, most of the top loaders use impellers versus agitators. I spent a few hours researching washers before my purchase and found that most users of these new washers were very dissapointed with the machines themselves and how well they washed their clothes. The impeller and low water level wash the clothes by moving them around against the bottom of the washer basket and many reviewers said their clothes came out extremely wrinkled and tangled from this method. They also felt that their clothes weren't coming out clean enough.
I chose this GE washer because it still uses an agitator and it allows you to choose the water for your load or you have the OPTION of using the auto load sensor. This washer is also one of the only models that allows you to fill the washer with water first, add your detergent and then your clothes. The auto load sensor washers require you to put detergent/color safe bleach, etc. in the bottom of the washer, put your clothes in on top of it and then the lid locks while it senses the load and fills the washer with water. I didn't like the fact that my clothes would be soaking up the detergent/color safe bleach in the bottom of the washer. This could potentially stain your clothes. I'm glad I did my homework because I love this washer!!! It's much quieter than my old one and my clothes come out cleaner than they ever have before. This washer is a great compromise that combines new technology with oldschool washer features that really clean your clothes.

Very good washer

This is still a washer where I can set the water level which is sooo important for me. It is still a he product, but with the agitator it achieves a super clean laundry. People who want to set it on 'Auto-Load' sensing can still do that, it is just not for me.

Could be better.

Have been using this washer for 3 months. I have to use the "max" water fill always as the auto fill never gets the clothes completely wet, even after agitation, which is very slow. I do not overload & balance the load but not enough water is used unless I use the max fill. I feel it does not agitate enough to remove dirt completely. My old washer removed stains this one does not do it well. Still evaluating but will open a service call if I can't get it to work better.
