Disappointed

I purchased this machine 1 month ago. I'm really disappointed in several features of this machine. First is the noise. The machine is very loud when in spin mode...sounds like a jet taking off coupled with a vibrating noise when reaching full spin speed. Very distracting (don't run the machine when you have company or else they will think your home is next to an airport strip). Additionally, you cannot select different water temperatures for wash & rinse cycles (I like to wash in warm and rinse in cold). Also, if you select warm temperature, it switches back and forth between hot and cold water to make warm water in the tub. You could be getting hot water dumped onto a fabric for which you intended warm water. Next, the top lid to the washer is not flat (rounded) and not suitable for sitting anything on top or else it will topple over. I use the top of my washer to unload supply items that are then placed on an upper shelf over washer; now I have to ask my husband to hand the items directly to me while I am on the step ladder. Last, but not least, I don't think the washer rinses out all the soap. My clothes feel like a residue remains. Also, if you decide to switch to another wash cycle after the cycle has started, the machine drains out the water it has already supplied; what a waste of water. Wish I had not invested in this washer.

Washes well, but the spin cycle is loud. Mechanical noises when machine cycles.

I have only had this washer a few days but our laundry was piled up since it had been over two weeks when our old one broke. It has done a fantastic job we ran 4 loads yesterday and three today and it has been great. Just be aware it does make sounds different from older washers, read the instruction manual.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Loud noises continue

Bought and have been using this washer since latter part of June. It cleans our clothes okay but the "sawing" or grinding noise it makes is ridiculous. It started out loud but the GE web site said this is would go away after initial use. It started getting softer but not it's back as loud as ever. It's very irritating, when guests in our home hear it they wonder what is going on. So based on this, we are not happy with the product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Pin Holes

Out machine is 10 months old, about 5 months ago I noticed small pin holes in our clothes, particularly cotton items. I believe it's a poorly designed agitator, GE has looked at it numerous times. At this point they are looking into replacing it, hoping this goes well.

It works great. The agitator cleans the clothes better. The capacity is large and one full load takes 2 baskets to hold the clothes after drying.
