Takes too long to wash clothes, not enough water

Bought this machine a couple of months ago. And it is perfect It doesnt have all the computerized dials. It is exactly what I wanted. Nice big tub!

Why I bought this particular machine.

I've had this machine about 6 weeks. I am not a GE fan. But because I have had all the fancy new models and hated the low water, no ringer, no clean clothes I looked for and "old fashioned" type washer. This was not about the money!! It was about having a practical washing machine that I could control the water levels myself and not have leveling issues. It washes well, it has not been out of balance once. It is a cheap model that is very noisy. I also bought the dryer. It seems fine. But the washer is noisy and once it did not rinse and spin properly. There is a spin and rinse option that is used and all was well. Haven't had the problem since. Funny thing is I don't know why they asked for a review because this machine is no longer available. Go figure. Anyway, a good all around old fashioned washer. Nothing fancy. Just washes your clothes.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Simple is better

Features which I greatly like:
1. The no lock lid: The no lock lid allows partial filling with water, then adding bleach, then adding clothes followed by completing filling. Bleach dispensers always screw up and lead to spots on clothes.
2. The design allows the consumer to control the machine instead of a computer dictating the machine.
3. The ability to control the filling process in order to have enough water in the tub to clean our clothes.
