Cannot control water level

We previously had a GE washer that we loved, never dreaming when we purchased our new machine that we would not be able to control the water level. I am having to add water with a bucket in order to cover the load. Often I am having to wash the load twice just to get our clothes clean. This machine is NOT a water saver unless you enjoy wearing dirty clothes. Unfortunately, due to the terms of purchase, we are unable to return this machine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very disappointed!

I bought this because it seemed closest to the GE Profile model I had for 14 years and was very pleased with. This spins so violently and is so noisy on high speed spin, I'm expecting it to blast into orbit. I'm afraid to use the cycles offering a high speed spin. If you pause or stop the machine to add forgotten items all the water drains and you must start all over. The same occurs if you soak clothes first, requiring the use of more water. It claims to be an energy saving washer and have so many options, but it is actually very inflexible and I'm using more water than with my old washer. In general,
