Deceptive Product

The 3.9 cu ft drum is big and shiny on the showroom floor, however, get it home to use it and it fills exactly 1" above halfway with water. Say anything they want about water and energy efficiency, any fabric loaded in this washing machine above half will not get wet and therefor doesn't get clean. Do not plan on using this machine for anything other than small loads of wash. If a change is made in the cycle choices after the machine fills with water, it empties and starts all over again. Not so energy nor water efficient on that one.

After 6 months broke down. All major parts have been replaced. Broke down again, more new parts. Right now at 10 months broke down again waiting for repair. Be sure to get the longest extended warranty you can as you will need it.

I have had this washer for 4 months and although the clothes are clean and wrung out at the end of the spin cycle they are so tangled that it is difficult to pull them out of the machine. Also, the straps from my nightgowns and bras and strings from my husbands hoodies and sweatpants get caught and knotted underneath the wings of the agitator. Didn't anyone test this model? Very poorly designed.

First impression, good machine

I purchased this machine about two months ago. I was nervous. I have washed all kinds of laundry since then. I have had to rewash a load only twice now. The detergent ( a powder for HE machines) did not dissolve completely and needed to be re washed. I have noticed more dirt in my dryer vent/lent which leads me to believe that there is a lot of dirt remaining after the wash. I also noticed that when I set the washer on a super high level the water really does not fill the drum, I'm not sure if this is normal....am I completely happy, no....are my clothes really clean I'm not really sure.....
I hint I'm going to return it. I don't want to spend this much time thinking about my laundry.

Electronic problems

Cleans our clothes fine, but have had numerous repair issues. All issues related to electronic board. GE repairman has replaced the board 2 times in less than a year from purchase. Guess we just got a bad one. We shouldn't have problems with washer less than a year from purchase.

I bought this approximately 6 mo. ago. I was all excited about the automatic water level feature as well as the extra spin feature. When I wash clothes I want the water to at least cover them . . . this is not the case with either the automatic water level feature or the manual water level choice. There are only 2 of us and when I wash a week's worth of whites (mostly underwear) I can put the manual water level on super and it still doesn't cover the clothes. It is like it is on automatic level all the time. The extra spin feature is good for only things like rugs. Anything else comes out so wrinkled you can't get them out. I would have to say the same thing applies to the regular spin feature as well. I can was items using only the regular spin, hang them out on an extremely windy day and they are so wrinkled that the wrinkles won't even "blow out." Never, have I had this problem in the past with my previous washers.

Less clothes for big tub

I bought my GE HydroWave washer, told good for conserving energy. Well I argue that. For a Super Load, would have been a small load on my old one different brand. Have to do more loads as tub does not even fill half way of water. Never again buy GE Washer.-- Model GTWN4250D0WS. As soon as I can afford it, I will be looking for a new washer, not a GE.
