WORST WASHER I HAVE OWNED

Bought this washer a few months ago after being told I could choose a load size OR do auto sensing. Get it home, hooked up and go to do laundry and NO MATTER which load size you choose it WILL NOT fill up with water enough to wash stuff. I'm familiar with how the HE washers operate and this one is HORRIBLE. I've used other HE washers and they use more water. Why even have the MAX load of you can't really wash a MAX load?! I had a whole load of towels and if wouldn't fill more than 1/4 to 1/2 way up with water. The top of the towels never got pulled under or anything. I'm sorry, just plopping around won't clean stuff like that. I wish we'd gone with another HE washer and bypassed this piece of JUNK!!!! Go ahead and purchase it if you plan on washing 5 items at a time!

Poor Results, Poor Quality

Replaced a 30 year old washer because the drum rusted out. I should have purchased a new drum. It was twice the washer. Forget the knob for different water levels. The washer ignores your settings. The only way to get the water past the half full mark is to place the options on Whites-Heavy, HOT water and water lever on SUPER. Then, sometimes it fills. Any other setting and the drum will only fill 1/2 full regardless the size of your load. Tried the auto water level sensor option only to have clothing go through the wash cycle without even getting wet until they reached the spin cycle. I know this because after the clothes kept coming out dirty, I used a magnet to open the lid and find out what was going on. Answer: NOTHING. Also, Whites, colors, permanent press, delicate..... Don't worry they pretty much all agitate the same. The washer is now 2 years old. Fortunately, I purchased a 5 year service agreement. The washer stopped agitating, just the drum spins. Service man just left. He said based upon the parts he has to order, they will probably just replace the unit. I hope I get to pick the replacement!
Buy something else. And another thing...please don't write awesome reviews after you have had the washer for a week. Wait until you know what you really have in the utility room.

Great Features! Short Service Life!

We bought this to be able to set our own wash water levels and it has worked beautifully. We were able to do all sizes of clothing/bedding except for maybe king-size comforters - that was pushing the capacity a bit.
But after only 6 years the main center bushing died and repair wasn't economically feasible. My previous Kenmore lasted 10+ years. So, I am extremely disappointed in the GE service life.

Fins on agitator keep breaking. 5 have broken since purchasing in 2014. Don't buy this product. GE accepts no responsibility for this issue.

Not for dirty Work Clothes

Did not realize this was an HE til I saw that on matching dryer, after it arrived, nothing on washer says it. Knew they wouldn't clean enough for husband's work clothes & turns out I'm right! Just great! Washing them all twice! Also no water level fills to more than 2/3 of the tub, top of most items out of water & barely being cleaned. Nearly all but small loads need to be filled to super level or have an extra bucket of water poured in from the sink, for it to come close to covering them, otherwise they barely move in agitation. Towels have come out still wet & needed a second spin. And that's all in the first week! May need service but can't get human on line to ask if all this is normal! It is very quiet, big whoopie.

I got one shipped out, it leaked out of the bottom. A second was sent as a replacement, it won't spin all of a sudden in two weeks of having it. It was good when it worked, that was not a long time though. Sending it back and trying my luck with another brand.

Wonderful Washer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Moved out of the old house and left the HE washer and couldn't wait to use my new agitator washer. It cleans a million times better than my old washer and I couldn't be happier! Highly recommended.
