I wasn't ready to go with a front loading washer and the reviews for the HE washers without agitatos sounded terrible. I was very excited to find that GE makes the top load with an agitator. So far, I am very happy with my new washer. It is replacing a relic that was detroying my dress clothes so I have really high hopes for my new machine. We've had it for less than a week. So far everything seems to work great. Choosing the correct cycle seems a little confusing but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it eventually. The manual could be more descriptive of the differences between the cycles. It does make many different noises that I'm not used to. It's quiet but I will never know if it's making a noise because something is wrong.
I would recommend this to a friend!

OVER THE TOP!!!

My GE washer died after 21 years so went looking for GE again. Many to choose from, wanted simple, & was working on a budget. This model fit the bill. Once delivered it ran almost non-stop for 2 days to catch up. Everything came out great (I tried almost all the settings) & were spun dry enough that I could reduce time in the dryer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We bought our washer mid-October, and it is now nearly Christmas, 2/4 of the bottom fins on the agitator broke off. They are not very sturdy.

Softest clothes ever with the Power Rinse

When my 18 year old washer failed, I looked at all the great technology GE introduced since I bought my last washer. Impressive savings on electricity, water, and gas, and it is kind to fabrics. The Power Rinse setting leaves clothes soft as new! I am sure I will save enough to pay for the machine, and be kind to the environment.

Excellent washer

Had a top loader without agitator High Efficiency (He) washer that died after 3 years.
This washer does a much better job because it has an agitator.
I always use the manual mode and do not use the auto sense, because I can eyeball how high the clothes are in the washer to gauge the level of water that will be needed. I occasionally use a little more water.
It is also fairly quiet.
Since it has a stainless steel drum it can attain much higher speeds than the old non stainless drums. So the clothes come out nicely spun.
The manual gives a good guide on the cycles. I use those recommendations and I have had great results.
I use a little less soap to get the best results.

Bought this washer about a month ago and have had no problems. Love all the cycles. I had a more expense front load washer before this washer and I like this new one much better. Cleans clothes much better than the front load.
