what's it's longevity, but working as expected

My old dryer had developed a warp in the lint catcher frame and allowed lint to get inside to cause possible fire potential, this one so far shows no signs of warping that way

The only dryer still 27" wide

We needed to replace our washer and to have a matching set we needed a dryer 27" wide. GE is the only maker who offered a 27" dryer. This dryer along with our new washer seems to be very efficient. The washer almost spins the clothes dry so that the dryer doesn't run very long.

Lots of options!

I got this in December. It has a large capacity drum and works great. I expecially like having the lint trap in the door instead of on the top of the dryer. I think my laundry room stays much cleaner this way.

Basic dryer, bought due to having a similar model before. filter doesn't fit as well as previous similar dryer.

Everything I want in a dryer

Without being much larger than my old dryer, it has a much greater capacity. Love the white interior of the drum; that plus the light that comes on when I open the door means no more socks left inside by mistake. It has plenty of options for matching drying time and heat to the fabrics that I'm drying.

Not very quiet

After the 3rd wash, the dryer made constant rotating metal grinding noises; now it's doing it every cycle. Not very quiet, so plan on not doing laundry at night.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Would Rather Review in About 10 Years!

Happy that the auto- features seem to work well. End of cycle buzzer is really annoying and hard to modulate. I prefer a top-mounted lint trap for ease of cleaning, but this does the job. Wish the manual was more clear on what the myriad of settings do.
