Awful knobs. Will never want to buy GE again

Knobs do not line up with correct cycle and have to guess what dryer cycle is on. Now we have to knobs replace the entire timing unit. Stem will not even turn with pliers. Ridiculous!!!!

RUN AWAY!

Dial knobs are cheap and break. Timer is stiff and causes the knobs to break. Other than that this is your basic dryer.

We have had this dryer for almost ten years, She still works well. My husband has fixed several things on the dryer over the years. However, each time the parts were easily accessible. We have a lot of laundry considering the kids and all the sports they have played over the years. I would suggest GE products to others. We are going to purchase a new GE dryer today, only because the last fix left the dryer squeaky, I can no longer stand it and he doesn’t want to mess with it anymore. Thanks GE for a fantastic basic dryer. I add that because it doesn’t have a ton of bells and whistles which I do not prefer. The dryer dry’s clothes. Less features mean less things to go wrong.

I am so tired of these inefficient frustrating machines. I purchased the pair based on what i thought was GE's reputation of quality.
I'm sorry folks but it takes soap AND water to wash ANYTHING. I put a full load in the machine and with it's all-knowing sensor, it decides that oh, 2 cups water will do just fine! I tried working with it and thought I'd found a setting that worked well enough but here we are today ... and again .... 2 cups! Full load of queen sheets and not enough water to wet the material except in the rinse cycle when it sprays water to try to eliminate the soap.
I hate these machines - the dryer is no better than the washer - it balls up your clothes so they can't possibly dry in an energy-efficient amount of time.

Hope this lasts as our first GE dryer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We just bought this dryer since it had many good features like the sensor controls for controlling drying. Our first and only GE dryer that we have had was bought in 1971 so it lasted over 40 years. Maybe GE will give us an award. Ditto on the GE Washer which lasted 37 years.

Great Dryer

I have two issues with this dryer. The lint filter is flimsy as others have mentioned and is not adequate as lint has to be swept from sides and from underneath the actual filter.
Also, the drum only has 3 side paddles. My previous dryer
had 4 paddles. With only 3 paddles, large loads (especially blankets) tend to roll up making it necessary to check and reform dryer load.

Great Dryer for the Money

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this dryer for about six months drying on average two large loads a week. It is one of the best dryers that I've ever used. The HE SensorDry is amazing. The optimal dry setting has all my clothes perfectly dry, so I don't have to waste extra energy. Additionally, my clothes are dry without shrinking. The dryer can handle anything you put into it. It is well built and should last a very long time. My only complaint is the wrinkle care option. You can't really tell a difference when it is turned on or off, so I leave it off and take my clothes right out when they're finished. Other than that, this model is an outstanding dryer (especially for the price)!
I would recommend this to a friend!
