This product confuses me

Overall, the washer is OK. However, I don't like that I can't control the water temp in some modes.
Also, the amount of water seems insufficient for a pre-soak.

Hi Djam,
The pre-set cycles on the WA400PJHDWR are designed to include the optimal combination of settings that are recommended for a particular type of load. If you'd prefer to select a water temperature or other settings or options that aren't recommended for that cycle, then you can choose those manually under a different cycle.
Please refer to the Cycle Chart on page 37 of the User Manual for detailed information on which settings and options are selectable for which cycles. The manual can be downloaded for easy reference from this page: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/WA400PJHDWR/AA

This replaced a 4 year old washer and I love this one. Very quiet... You can configure everything, even calibrate the empty weight... We have had it for almost a month and I am very happy with this product

Less than two years old the water pump failed.

I think the review title says it all. A less than two year old washer's water pump stopped working. Junk.

not if you like clean clothes

washes like a small apartment size washer/dryer combo. will not properly clean the large load it advertises to handle. Suggested we only washing 4-5 bath towels at a time. promo video claims 22 plus towels. my husband and I are small, wear professional casual clothes, have management positions, no soiling of clothing, according to recommendations water level would not clean properly a tall mans sized clothing. No way to override water levels. May as well bought a baby washer since the large size drum can only handle 1/3 of it's capacity.
Cons: Did not meet expectations

I'm sorry to hear your Washer is not meeting your expectations. The 4.0 cubic foot WA400 is, in fact, designed to fit the equivalent of a king size comforter or up to 28 standard (24" x 44") bath towels. If yours is not washing this size load effectively, I would suggest reviewing the tips offered in the User Manual or the online Troubleshooting Guide. In addition, upon installation it's recommended to run the Calibration Mode to ensure the weight sensors are functioning properly, which impacts the amount of water that's used in each cycle; see page 17 of the User Manual for instructions to run this program.

Been very pleased with the Samsung washer and dryer purchased last year. Amazing what a difference it makes to have the newer technology such as direct drive in the washing machine. Now we can take out the load out of the washing machine and into the dryer and the drying time has been cut in half, a great energy savings. Lint collector in the dryer is also a plus- catches 99 % of the lint- have never had to clean outside vent area to date.
Easy enough for me to use and a happy wife she is , when I step in to help with the laundry.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable

Horrible purchase

I've had more trouble with this washer, had call for repairs 3 times in the first year. Constantly giving me trouble, clothes never appear clean anymore will never purchase this brand of washer.

I've had this washer for two years and have experience two major problems. The first had to do with a part affecting the spin cycle and when the repairman came out to fix it, he stated that this is a common problem with the Samsung washers. The other day, a seal at the water intake broke and my laundry room got flooded. We have a lot of Samsung products and are usually very satisfied, but I'm disappointed in this washer.
I would recommend this to a friend!
