This product does not last

Exactly 1 year and 4.5 months after installation, my lovely Samsung washer is broken. The latch no longer locks when you press start. Call me crazy, but I think a washer should last longer than that. My previous bad review got taken down by Samsung. Not sure why - I guess they don't like bad reviews. Hopefully, this one will stick.
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not happy

I just finished washing a blanket for the fourth time to get it clean. I've had this machine for a little over a year and have never had so much trouble getting clothes clean. Clothes come out of the washer with lint and fuzz on then. Dirt remains in folds of the clothes. Wish I had an old non-HE machine. I'm very unhappy with this machine.
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Absolutely Worst Washer Ever!!!!
on June 29, 2014

Wow!!! what can I say...within two months we were already having to service the unit. It was serviced more than 3 times while under warranty. All having to do with the electronics. It does not clean clothes even moderately well. Now, I came home the other day and my wife tells me that while she was trying to use the washer it flooded the wash room. Since now it is not under warranty I took the back plate off and come to find out that the pump that takes the water out of the unit was laying on the floor under the unit. On closer inspection I find that the pump was completely broken off from the bracket that was holding it, and eventually the hose that was holding it up came off under the pressure.. Now, keep in mind that the bracket was holding this unit was pretty heavy plastic and would have taken a pretty big hit to break it. It was completely ripped off.. I can only conclude that it was that way from the start since the unit has not been moved since it was delivered.... again I say Wow!!!
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Unusable for 7 Weeks
on March 21, 2014

Washer is 16 MONTHS old and it started to add time to every load and not because it was out of balance but more likely because it was out of warranty. It's because of the poor quality and cheap parts it was made with. Machine is a large paperweight and has not worked for 7 weeks despite having the motor replaced, the same sensor twice, a sub PCB board, and now the main PCB board. DO NOT BUY. There are way better brands and washers.
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the worst washer I have ever owned. Everytime it gets to the spin cycle, it won't spin my laundry. We have leveled it several times, nothing helps. If you like spending all day trying to wash one load of laundry, this is the washer for you.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

When I purchased the washer, I told it holds a large capacity of laundry but I feel like that's a lie. I have to divide my laundry in half to wash them or else the washer starts rumbling and [all the time] feel like the barrel is near to breaking out and I'm scared of that happening. So instead of the washer being "large capacity" we'll have to say its 'half capacity' after all it is what it is. Then you have the options of washing bedding, normal, quick wash, heavy duty, etc... So considering that, after one wash was done on normal, my laundry remained dripping in water and some clothing had filth from residue of the wash. That is certainly not what I nor anybody want in their laundry. Another great feature is it's energy star certified, but how is that possible when you have to rewash the load again because of the results the washer gave you in the first wash. Not only that but also, it likes to pause it self just for you to take the time out to come back to it and press start, again. My old washer was from early 2000's, it might not have been the quieter wash with VRT as this washer is, but it sure got the job done right.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Response from Samsung USBy Ms. Samsung, HQ, July 9, 2014
I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with your WA400 Washer, Hou08. When installed correctly the Vibration Reduction Technology in this and other Samsung Washers is extremely effective in reducing noise, vibration and "rumbling". However, if it isn't leveled or functioning properly this could prevent it from spinning the maximum amount of water out of the clothes, as you describe. Also, residue on the clothes could be caused by using too much or non-HE detergent. It's very important to use no more than the recommended amount of HE detergent.
I would suggest reviewing the articles in the Troubleshooting Guide available through this page: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/WA400PJHDWR/AA#
If these tips don't help to resolve the issue, please use the links on that page to request assistance from the Support Team.
Thank you, Ms. Samsung
