Cautiously optomistic about this fridge

Our initial experience with this model was terrible. The refrigerator arrived (new out of the box) with two cracks in the water hose feeding the water dispenser and ice maker. Repairmen had to come out and fix the problem. A few days later, water began collecting in the Cool Select Pantry. Another repairman arrived. There was a problem in the water filter housing. The repairman could not find the part on-line. He called his home office for help. They could not find the part immediately; expected it would take two weeks to find the part; and, no idea when it could be installed. The recommendation was to exchange the unit. (We had this fridge two weeks to the day at this point.) Here is where the "cautiously optimistic" part comes in. We had another refrigerator delivered (same model) and, despite the small scratch on the side (again out of the box), it has been operating very well. We just hope it continues operating as Samsung and Consumer Report states it will.

My new Samsung 25.6 cu ft French Door Refrigerator

My new Samsung French door refrigerator was delivered on Oct 7, 2012. The only con was that I didn't know I had to buy a refrigerator water connection kit. The installer told me this when he delivered the refrigerator. So he left if out in the middle of the area and told me what I had to do to install the kit and slide the refrigerator into its place. I bought the water connection kit after he left and installed it. I waited until evening and the ice maker started to produce ice. Everything now was perfect. The lighting on my new Samsung Fr. Dr Refrigerator allows me to see everything inside. The same with the freezer. It runs very quietly. The digital controls on the very top allow me to stop ice production when the ice bin is full. It also has a filter indicator to let you know when to change the water filter. There are several other buttons including power freeze button, to speed up time to freeze products in the freezer, fridge button to set the desired temperature.The refrigerator has a door chime when the door is not closed in a relative amount of time. I especially like that feature. I chose the model RF261BEAEBC because it had the internal water dispenser and icemaker. It has a Cool select pantry that is a full width drawer with adjustable temperature control. It can be used for big things like pizza , party trays etc. It is so spacious and I can see every item in there when I open the door. There is so much room on doors and plenty of room in the freezer. It has 2 humidity controlled crispers I use one for fruits and the other for veggies. The Cool Select pantry keeps my deli and cheese fresh. I just love this refrigerator. It is the best one I ever owned,

Very spacious and easy to roll around. Nice and quiet motor. Stainless steel looks fantastic! This Samsung refrigerator is the "cherry on top" addition to this Samsung household :) I highly recommend this product!

French door is the way to go!

I really love this fridge. It feels so spacious and I LOVE having the water on the inside of the fridge. It doesn't take up room in the door like most fridges and leaves the front with a clean, sleek look. The French door design is the best as well! I grew up with a side-by-side and it always felt like you could never fit anything in it! Especially when you had a tray or leftover pizza box to squeeze in there. This fridge is the exact opposite. It's super spacious and accommodating. The shelves move very easily and the one that folds in toward the back to fit in tall bottles, etc. is a lifesaver. The LED lights really light the whole thing up nicely as well so it makes finding things in the back a breeze. And by having a freezer drawer it seems like things fit nicely and don't slide all around. With the side-by-side I always felt like stuff was on the verge of falling out on me. I love the look of stainless steel, but the only down side is that it does dent pretty easily. I tried to be very careful knowing that was the case, but we still managed to get 2 small dents in it while owning it less than a year :( Disappointing, but to be expected with a stainless front. Fingerprints aren't too noticeable on it right away. They will show after a while, though, so make sure to get a nice stainless cleaner to buff it back to its beautiful shine. Overall, I'm very happy with this fridge and would recommend it to anyone! The reason I picked it in the first place was because of its high ratings by Consumer Reports!!
Pros: capacity, french door design, water inside the fridge not on the front, large deli/dairy drawer + 2 large veggie drawers
Cons: stainless dents easily, you have to grab ice by hand/scoop it with a cup
