ice maker is horrible

ice maker design is horrible. if i had known this before we bought the fridge we would have went with something else. i have tried to defrost manually and then restart everything but that was only temporary relief. it then quit again. the other day it sounded like a woodpecker starting in there. i have since unplugged the wiring for the ice maker as i am tired of hearing that and the beeping to manually defrost.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Ice Maker Hasn't worked in years

if you like ice then don't buy this fridge. i used to use a hairdryer to thaw out the ice machine.. but now i can't even open the bucket up. it's frozen solid.. it worked for maybe 2 years before i had this issue..everyone i have talked to that bought this product has had the same issue.. a recall should probably be made

less than 3 years and trouble begins for a pricey appliance...
te ice machine stops working every few weeks (need to use blow dryer to thaw to use).
also the interior of the fridge dips below freezing so we had to put thermometers in different parts of the fridge just to know which regions were likely to freeze or not.

this refrigerator has been horrible since bought. icemaker has had to be fixed at least half a dozen times and still does the same thing over and over again. i just buy ice now because it’s less expensive. today i have water coming out of the refrigerator from underneath the drawer at the very bottom of the refrigerator i have no idea why it’s collecting down there but this refrigerator is a real pain in the you know what. i will never buy a samsung refrigerator ever again. they need to stick to electronics.

the ice maker freezes up sll of the time. it is a known issue of these. i called samsung and in 2 weeks someine is coming to replace it at no codt

Ice maker is a piece of crap, will never buy Samsung appliances ever again in my life. I bought a Kenmore 17 years ago and still working like a champ, same ice maker that came with the fridge.

I have had this unit for 5 years and has been nothing but problems (along with the expensive microwave that only made it 3 years and and should have ditched it sooner) so I am now in the process of looking for a replacement. I guarantee it will not be a Samsung. How there has never been a recall on these with the ice maker defects and other issues is beyond me.
