We originally purchased the 4.2 CU FT model but a few days later decided to cancel the order and got with the Larger 5.2 CU FT...... So happy we did. I have cut laundry from a 10 load week into a 3 to 5 loads a week. I love the features - especially the SPEED WASH for my kids sports uniforms as they often get left out and we suddenly realize we need it for a game in a few hours! I toss my sons full size bedding in almost weekly (due to allergens and asthma) and it washes easily with out having to rearrange everything to get the comforter to spin out. I have yet to use all the the settings, love the turbo wash, speed wash and sanitary options! It is great to have options other then WHITE too. The steel gray is a great color. My only warning, these are HUGE machines and need a large laundry room and plenty of room for the doors to swing open.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, color options

Love the new washer and have found the large capacity to really handle a king-size coverlet as I had been skeptical until I actually did it. There is also the ability to do a hand wash and then put the item(s) into the washer to spin the excess water out. I think that needs to be highlighted better.
Also I wish there were option to set cold water for the speed wash and small load. Other than that, I really enjoy the programmed settings.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Quality

Bought the Washer and Dryer and it's cut my wash time to 1/3 of what it used to be. What used to be 3 loads of laundry in my washer is now done in 1 with room to spare. Wouldn't trade this washer for the world!

Brain-free washing

I hate laundry. I hate it! I don't want to think about it. I want to hit a button, and walk away. I want most - ideally all - of my clothes to survive the process.
This machine lets me press a button, walk away, and a musical tune lets me know when it's done. Or I can turn the tune off, for when I forget to do the washing until late at night, and the kids are sleeping.
Best of all, I can put so much washing in per load. It is awesome. So less time waiting for each load to finish, so I don't get distracted and forget about the wet washing. The musical tune helps with that, too.
I don't pay much attention to washing in general... but I think my washing may be coming out softer. All my clothes survive the process, and believe me, I don't sort clothes by any criteria other than "dirty". No time for that kind of nonsense.
Good job, LG. I'm a convert.

Best bang for the dollar!

It is seriously quiet. Recommend getting the base, otherwise it's difficult to see and reach in. It's easy on the fabrics. The EXL capacity is wonderful- never too much - the larger the space the cleaner the clothes with less wear & tear.
I wish there were more options with regard to soaking and pre-washing - some things just need more time. Also, I wish the light would stay on during the cycle and when the washer is open. I've had a top loader for 50 years - this is an adaptive learning experience.

Lots of different options to choose

I bought this washer as I wanted a front loader. I absolutely love the capacity of the drum. I do less laundry. Sometimes the water does not fully drain however leaving some clothes still wet enough that you can squeeze water out of them. This was a little disappointing. Overall I am pleased with the purchase.

Easy to use and understand

I just traded another higher end washer and dryer on this new LG pair. The washer capacity is excellent. Wash times in the steam mode are about 45 minutes longer than the ones I traded in. My old washer would wash in the HD cycle and steam mode in about one hour and fifteen minutes. The LG is a little over two hours. Everything washed in my old washer came out extremely clean. My verdict is still out on the LG. Is seems to do a good job but I have a little concern on the whites but as I said I will monitor it for a while yet. I have no concerns on the dryer. It is excellent. I trade about every two years. We have the 8000 model which is top of the line for LG. Overall it depends on how few problems I have over the two to three years I will keep it. So far it works well.
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use
