Beautiful machine, very quiet, washes well.

My wife and I bought this washer and the matching dryer 2 months ago, and they are working very well. The wash cycle can be a bit long (an hour) but you can also choose a shorter time. All the wash cycle and temperature options take a while to learn; the basics are easy.
The wash cycle starts and stops every few minutes, and doesn't fill with water until well into the cycle. I assume this is for efficiency but it doesn't make intuitive sense.
We used the large capacity to wash a couple of smaller area rugs and they came out fine.

This is - bar none - the best washer we have ever had. It has been worth every penny. We have six children from 2-18 years old so this washer gets a heavy workout daily. It is so quiet! You can sleep next door and not notice it. It has wonderful allergen reducing steam cycles and turbo wash for small loads - I love how it tells you how much time is left for that particular load. We especially love its size - everything can be washed here. No more trips to the Laundromat for sleeping bags or large comforters. Not only can it wash ALOT, it really deeply cleans them. The cost may seem high, but it really is a wonderful value for all this machine can do! We HIGHLY recommend it. We also recommend actually READING the instruction manual - very helpful.

Stop wasting detergent

I use much less detergent and bleach using this washer and my clothes are cleaner - even with super-large loads. I love it!

Best washing machine we have ever purchased.

Our washing machine died and left us with a trip either to a Laundromat, or to replace the machine. We choose the latter. Our size requirement and the need to replace the machine immediately narrowed the field greatly. We decided on the LGWM8000HVA 5.2 cu. ft. partly because we had purchased LG appliances before, but mostly because it met all our requirements and then some. We are very happy with all our LG appliances and would recommend them to anyone in need of new appliances.

We were not going to buy an LG but after reading reviews we decided to purchase. Could not be happier. The washer works great and we use for large loads all the time. Quiet and fast. Love it.

Love doing the wash now

I love this washer, large loads CLEAN laundry, happy happy happy.
The one issue I seem to have is the ability to see the dial settings if they were back lit or lit it would be easier to see I have to use a flashlight to see them even with the washer sitting next to the window with the lights on.
I love the drum light too.

Perfect for large and small families

Consumer Reports gave an excellent review on a washer similar to this one. I chose this one because the one reviewed on CR wasn't on the market yet. I purchased the washer and matching dryer about 3 months ago and am very pleased with the function and performance of the pair. It's just my boyfriend and I in our home so our laundry loads are small. I like how this washer can sense the size of your load and adjust the output of water accordingly so that it isn't wasted. I do not see a difference in how clean my clothes get when using either Turbowash or regular wash. The cleanliness seems to be equal. I was able to wash my great dane's dog bed and my couch cushion covers and slipcovers without any trouble. There will be musty smells in the washer if you close the door without letting it dry first but cleaning it is easy. The soap compartment is removable which makes it easy to clean and to add detergent however I do wish that the removable cup had a handle of some sort as it is difficult to insert without getting soap on your fingers. I call my washer and dryer set my "space machines" because they look futuristic.

This washer is absolutely amazing and I do not know how I have lived without it. I have had it for two months now and it has cut my laundry time in half. My white clothes are as white as they were when they were new, my towels look amazing and my dark clothes look amazing as well. I will never have anything but LG Products.
