Explanation of Steam Function non-existent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] No cogent explanation in manual. I tried the steam function but am using trial and error to determine the parameters for this feature. LG marketing touts steam as a huge advantage but the implementation is flawed due to lack of explanation.Seems like a good product otherwise.
Pros: Style/Design, Quality

Built to last.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought the LG DLEX800W dryer in 2013 I believe. Our family of 8 uses this dryer almost every day. It’s now Jun 2021 (8 years) and we have our first problem. The belt that the motor uses to rotate the drum finally wore out. This will be a minor repair. Amazing reliability.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This has been such a great dryer. Has multiple features to handle anything I needed. But here we are 7 years with no problems, and no one will work on it.
Pros: Style/Design, ease of use, Features/Settings
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Replaced my Previous unit (KitchenAid) pair with LG and am happy I did….less noisy, larger capacity. Etc.

Don't buy for the features!

We were really excited for the steam features of this dryer. Sadly, they don't work as promised. My husband did the Fresh Steam on 3 pairs of khakis and they came out very wrinkled; way worse than going in. This happens on his work shirts too and everything else we tried it with. Plus, you always end up with a puddle of water under the front, which is "normal for this feature" if you read the manual. You can't change the temperature level on any of the settings, and "normal dry level" always leaves clothes damp. The only good thing is the capacity.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Dryer has more features than most Aircraft

We had our washer and dryer delivered on Friday. It has more features than we had expected. My granddaughter looked in the dryer and said that you could put two toddlers in there. Like the other LG products we have this one has very good quality control, everything fits, all lines are stright and everything is made out of quality material. I expect this to my last dryer.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, value

Not a very good dryer.

I bought this dryer for its capacity, because I bought the large capacity washer. This machine has too many features, which are overkill. Its "normal" dry level leaves our clothes damp. I have to always adjust the dryness level up to "Very Dry." A dryer just needs a dryness sensor and a button to set your desired dryness level, and then a "timed dry" function. That is enough. The steam function is a joke. It leaves my clothes wrinkled and damp (I will just stick with a misting bottle and my iron), and leaves water in the machine.

Lots of features - doesn't dry

I just contacted support regarding this dryer. It was leaving lots of loads damp. We did troubleshooting and nothing was wrong. I was then told to use Time Dry for mixed loads. Basically, the message was that the sensor is over sensitive and senses dry items in mixed loads, and shuts the cycle down. All these extra sensors, and the dryer is dumb.
