Quality and tons of room

We really like this fridge. It is solidly built and has lots of storage. We really like the slim in door ice maker. The freezer is quite large too. Water and ice in the door is great but I do wish the water was chilled. While you can open the left side door by itself you really can't close the left door without opening the right door slightly. This is just a minor inconvenience though. It is also super quiet. I'm sure its well insulated because I swear I hardly ever hear in running. The 10 year warranty on the compressor motor, which I hope I never have to use, was a good selling point as our previous refrigerator of a different brand bit the dust after 9 years. Its a great refrigerator.

Love This Refrigerator!

I really, really like the space and brightness of this fridge. It's the first of its kind that is intelligently compartimentalized. Appreciate the absence of a big bulky space hoging water and ice system in the left side door, present in most other refrigerators. Storing and finding food and produce is easy, both in the fridge and the freezer. Before I bought this one, I spent a lot of time studying other models/makes. This is the best on the market.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, good value for the money

Ice Lover Disappointed
on November 25, 2012

In a previous home I owned a French door type fridge I loved. Then I moved to a new home with a side by side and HATED it. Recently I bought this model and thought all my previous comforts would return. Not so:
1) Door Trays - there are only three trays on the right door. There are pre-designed grooves for me to adjust the trays up or down, but if I want to adjust those trays as I plan to use them, there are not enough grooves (obviously the lower shallow one shouldn’t be moved to allow space for the bottom drawer). The tray designer seemed to think I would only use this space for TALL LARGE items when I actually use my door trays for all those small jars and condiments that get shoved into the back of the fridge. So, I feel robbed of door storage!! (And it doesn’t come with an egg tray either).
2) Ice Maker – the ice frequently freezes together and will not dispense. As an ice lover, this is quite annoying, as I have to get into the freezer to unclump it. I don't think the “IcePlus” feature really works, as it doesn’t appear to make ice any faster. You will definitely have to plan ahead for parties or purchase ice.
3) Ice Maker Handle – the handle to open the ice maker is SO stiff, I feel like I am about to break it OR hurt myself as I use so much force to open it, I fear I will be hitting my elbow against the fridge door! This wouldn’t typically annoy me so much except I am opening it a handful of times throughout the day to break up the ice that has frozen together.
4) Water Dispenser – there is a slight delay in the dispensing of the water. And when it does come out, the force of it hits the cup and splatters onto the fridge/floor/person. I’ve also had people put their cup on the tray and hit the water dispenser and splash water onto the floor/themselves.
Lastly, while I’d like to rave about all the other pluses of this fridge, it is, after all, a refrigerator and it is doing everything I’d expect a fridge to do. However, when/if all things are equal, we look at the features to help make our decisions. Unfortunately, I paid a third of the price for my previous fridge that I feel has better features.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, Quality

Slightly disappointed

Love the looks of the appliance and had heard how good LG was. However, have only had it for 5 months and we had to have the service man come and fix the ice maker as it was frozen solid . (agree with other reviewer that you have to bang on the ice door to loosen the ice.) Then the left side door does not always shut properly. We had to leave to come north but upon my return I will have to have the service man back to fix the door so that it will close properly. . Ice cubes are very small and you have to plan ahead if you are having a party. Like all the drawers inside and the features and settings

This machine is terribly noisy. Can hear it throughout the house. Very high level of vibration. You can feel vibration in the door handles Buzzing is terrible. Very disappointed. This refrig is many times noisier than the one it replaced. Would send back in a heart beat

It fit in my counter depth space!

I didn't ever think I was going to be able to find a French door frig that fit it my very specific space requirements and be bigger than 25 cf! I'm amazed and love this frig! You use a frig how many times a day? We'll spend the money and get what you want because you'll keep it for at least 10 yrs! I love my French door. When I bought this 28 cf and transferred all of the studs from my side by side into it the French door looked empty! Just amazing the room and the lighting is Awesome! I've wven noticed that my produce even lasts a lot longer. The lettuce has lasted for over 10 days and looks just like I just bought it! Do it you won't regret it! My husband was skeptical and said " what's the big deal it's a frig!" Well he doesn't say that anymore! He loves it too!

Really good except ice maker
on November 28, 2012

This is a really great refrigerator except for the ice maker. This seems to be a problem with most French door refrigerators. Since the icemaker is in the door of the refrigerator it is limited in size, but more irritating is that it isn't well insulated. As a result the ice melts enough to stick together and won't feed into the dispenser. We end up having to open up the ice maker and dump a block of ice once or twice a week. I imagine that this wouldn't be a problem if you always used all the ice it would produce.
Pros: easy to use

hate it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I regret purchasing this. The icemaker constantly gets blocked up. It makes high pitched annoying noises. I had to replace two of the door shelves in the first year because they are so brittle they crack easy.
