Terrible quality

Sorry, but the ice maker broke in less than a year. The compressor broke around year 3 and had that replace. Also, every single door shelf broke in about a year. I have to replace them all.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this fridge for our first home with my wife. It worked fine and we loved the water and ice options. Unfortunately the ice machine would melt and freeze all the ice cubes together creating a frozen block in the dispenser. We would have to remove it and use hot water to melt and remove the ice blockage. The fridge stopped working for the first time 2 years after we purchased it. We had to pay someone to fix it. Something to do with a component that needed replacing. Fine. Worked well for two more years and stopped working again today. I will be replacing my fridge and chalking this up as a dud. It is disappointing as I have never seen a fridge break so fast. Good thing I am in Canada and my sunroom is basically a freezer right now. Bad thing is that my wife is 9 months pregnant and our fridge is broken. I wont be buying LG again, but this may be for personal reasons.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Was Love at the beginning

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this with the extended warranty, we bought 4 LG appliances with this purchase. I am 73, have had my own refrigerator since the age of 20. Never have I had a refrigerator die on me, maybe a ice maker but not a refrigerator. This one did after the warranty went out 6 months earlier. It was the compressor, so not feeling the love of owning anything LG!

Actual Temperature Reading on Front Panel

The refrigerator is well built but the compressor had to be replaced after only 5.5 years of service. My comment is that an actual inside temperature reading should be incorporated on the front door, not just the temperature setting. If this was the case, I would have been warned that the refrigerator malfunctioned. Consequently, I lost hundreds of dollars in food.

It lasted for 9 years. Compressor is broken and some other part needs replacement it seems.
LG Service is ridiculously expensive.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Icemaker is poor quality. Ice tray does not fill with water but continues to clank like it is trying to empty tray. Friend has Lg w/icemaker and same issue. She turned it off and I turn mine off at night for sleep.
Other than the icemaker, love the refrigerator. Very roomy and movable shelves and 2 drawers for veggies/fruit and 1 drawer above freezer.

Gorgeous to look at, but not perfect

The refrigerator is great, not perfect. It's nice to look at and keeps my food cold. Storage space is more than adequate. (I love the large bottom Glide N’ Serve Drawer). But I probably could've gotten most of these features in another fridge at a much lower cost.
The top shelf on the inside of the left door is so narrow and short that the only thing we keep there are small drink cans. It's really useless space.
The ice maker doesn't hold much ice at one time so if you have a large family, you'll have to use the ice maker in the IcePlus mode and store some in the freezer drawer. Just 2 of us in our house so the only time we've run out of ice is when we have people over.
Also, the ice does tend to melt together if you don't go through it quickly enough.
The in-door water dispenser has water that comes out from a little spout OUTSIDE of the dispenser (not in the door like most refrigerators) and every person that uses it has ended up spilling water all over our floor. Now we know to warn people ahead of time.
Fingerprints on the stainless steel exterior seem impossible to clean off completely. Kind of frustrating for someone like me with OCD.
It's a perfectly fine fridge but it's far from perfect. Considering how much it cost, I'm not sure I would buy it again if I had a do-over.
I'm not sure I would recommend it but I don't hate it enough to not recommend it.
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use
