Good headphones, great sound, fair price.

These headphones have a rather incredible sound for the price. The sound is clear and defined at any volume. With amazing mids, highs, and good bass. Could be comparable (or even better than) to some $250 Sennheiser over ears. They aren't the most comfortable of headphones and they make your ears hot after 30-40 minutes of listening. The press against your ears firmly. The headband rubber grips very well, so they don't fall off even if you shake your head around. They look fairly stylish. I prefer the white and gray, and black and red; over the black and blue. The cable is good and doesn't get tangled very easily. It is very compact and the adjustment is good for mid to large sized heads. This is an un-bias opinion. I do own these headphones, and I am glad I do.

Fantastic set for the price!

In going through buying a new product I research it to death and compare it to similar priced models by competitors I find on the internet. I did the same with these. It took me a while to decide if I wanted to get them especially since they were on ear headphones instead of over ear which generally like more. However, I could not be more pleased, I expected a nice sounding pair of headphones but the level of fidelity on these is amazing. The first thing I did when I got them was just a simple test on my computer. I brought up just a quick YouTube video of one of my favorite songs and I could hear the difference in just the commercial that played. But let's go over what exactly I like about them.
For one the bass is fantastic, you get hard hitting bass that is strong but not overwhelming so it doesn't overpower the mids and the highs. All the low's are extremely rich and sound fantastic, I've run them through many genre's and all my music sounds better on these. Just for reference, I've run them through classical music, heavy metal, techno, dubstep, a capella, some pop, and everything sounds great.
Second pro is the comfort, I thought on ear headphones would get really uncomfortable really fast but the pads on these things are super soft and comfortable, the material that actually covers the headphones is also very soft and doesn't rub on your ears too much when putting them on and taking them off a lot. The band at the top is really comfortable as well and I almost never have to re-situate the headphones. Just put them on and go. However the only con is also in the comfort and that's that your head get pretty hot with these beasts on after extended periods of use but that's usually true for any larger model headphones anyway so it didn't take a star off.
The last couple things I really like is the cord on it is fantastic, it's flat and only on one side so it doesn't get in the way if you want to eat or write while listening. And they drown outside out pretty well also. The music comes through crisp and clear and I don't have to put them very loud, but even if I ramp them up there's no distortion.
Overall I would absolutely recommend these to a friend as they are 100% worth it for the price, and I actually have recommended them to one of my best friends and he got them and loves them as well. Fantastic bang for your buck great job sony!

Excellent Headphones

I've wanted these headphones for a while, since I first heard about them on youtube. I am very satisfied with them. I've been a Sony fan for a while. I'm typing this review up on my Sony laptop. I've always knew Sony makes quality products, so far they've never failed. I've been looking for a great pair of headphones with amazing bass. I bought three pairs of Sony headphones within three months. These headphones are perfect. I strongly recommend them. This is the way music is suppose to be heard. I'll be purchasing the MDR-1Rs and the MDR-X10s next.
What's great about it: Sound quality, build quality, portability
What's not so great: Get uncomfortable after a while

There is this huge movement to buy "Beats" headphones because they are the "in" thing. But I can assure you there are no better headphones on the market than these Sony headphones and they are less than half the cost. I bought my first pair in 2012 and used them daily for three years until they started to show wear. Despite the age - they sound as good as they did when I first bought them. I recently bought a new pair and gave my older pair to my nephew - who absolutely loves them as much as i did when i first bought them. You will not be disappointed.

They are compact, flexible and fit nicely but people can hear my music when I'm listening at a normal level. Think what would happen in a quiet office while listening to Metal or anything other than soft music at regular or "loud" decibels?
Seriously, I am not blasting music to cause this; I am listing to the same levels that I would in my car, using my iphone ear buds or my old Klipsch headphones. super disappointing. And with no free shipping on returns I just ate the cost.
The reviews were all positive on these and had this not been an issue I would have given them a 4.5-5/5 stars. Whomp, whomp.

I was looking into headphones $100-$400. When I saw the price on these, lower than $100 I was AMAZED by the sound quality compared to higher priced headphones. I have compared them to my friend's $500 headphones and they sound almost identical. The bass is perfect, the clarity is perfect. They look amazing. Cable is long enough for what I use them for. I have no complaints whatsoever.
