Great product but - what goofball designed the plastic cover?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had this product for a couple weeks and are very pleased so far. However, just before the installer left, we noticed several patches of clear plastic covering were not removed. When we asked the installer he said to just take a sharp blade and cut them off. After careful exam, we noticed the bits of plastic were stuck under the black plastic trim. We were able, after quite some time and being VERY careful not to scratch the black paint surface, to get the plastic off. Whoever designed this should have their head examined!!!!!!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

This product has great features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator is spacious allowing large milk and beverage containers on the doors yet lots of adjustable shelve space inside. Separate shelves for vegetables and lunch meats are large. The ice and water mechanism is in the door saving loads of room. The bottom freezer has two compartments, easy to reach and well lighted.Plus all the lighting is high tech, soft but growing brighter the longer the doors are open. Door chimes alert you if a door is not closed properly. Ice and water slot have automatic lighting and soft touch buttons. The compressor is not loud. This is a high quality,high tech product. We love it.

Freezer drawer doesn't seal every time, lots of frost on food when it doesn't seal yet does not set off the alarm. I don't like the finish which has many flaws.

Love the look/keeps things cold/HATE the ice maker

EVERYTHING about this refrigerator is PERFECT, except the ice maker-if you don't place the cup right up against the dispenser where the ice comes out, ice shoots out all over and lands everywhere but the glass/cup (we had a GE (different model) before this one, and it didn't do that-you could set the glass on the tray, press the glass against the lever, and ice would dispense into the glass). Also, the ice maker is constantly jammed with ice, so you have to open the door, open the icemaker, unjam the offending cube, close everything back up...you get the idea. But the worst thing is that the for some reason (AND THERE IS NOT A LEAK IN THE ICEMAKER HOSE OR COUPLINGS), randomly-not every time, when it is making ice, there are huge puddles on the floor at the right and left front of the refrigerator. It lasts for a few days, and then stops (when the ice is made). Thankfully, we have tile flooring in our kitchen, and it has not ruined our floors. We now just shove old towels as soon as we see the puddles forming. Otherwise, this 'fridge is pretty, and works great in every other way. Next time I buy, I will check reviews on line to make sure I'm not missing something.

Had a repairman our last year. Fridge has issues with the main board and now with cooling op area. For what was paid very disappointed in the longevity of this appliance. Repairman told us the quality of GE is not what it use to be.
