Not easy

The induction top does not work well at all.
We have 2 portable induction cooktops that we have used for the past couple of years with no problem, so decided to buy this induction range.
We have to move the pans around for sometimes up to 5 minutes before the stovetop picks up the pans and starts heating. Been working with this trying to see if there's a "trick" to this, with no luck.
Then, the "straw that broke the camel's back". Night of July 3rd, put a pot of water on to boil to start cooking for the 4th of July. After about 5 minutes of moving the pan around, the burner turned on. Tended to something else, turned back to the stove & it was completely off. Flipped the circuit breaker, still nothing. Followed the trouble shooting instructions, still nothing.
Now 5 days with no stove or oven. Told that a part had to be ordered. Then will have to wait for a repair person to come sometime during this very busy time to interrupt our summer plans. All for a brand new range that should work flawlessly, without having to "jimmy around" to get it to work.
By the way, went back to the portable induction cooktops, which work with no problem, so the problem is not my pans.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Lives up to reputation

Since starting our kitchen renovation we have been purchasing Samsung products, including our 5.9 cu. ft. Freestanding Full Induction with True Convection oven. While we did initially experience an error message (and three repair attempts) we have since found the range to be the best range we have ever owned!
It will boil liquids (water, soup, etc.) in amazing time while the oven cooks foods much faster than conventional ovens could ever dream of.
Pros: Bright display, Durable

I love the induction oven feature where I can roast a whole chicken to perfection. The warming oven has been very handy to hold back dishes while others are finishing. The glass top is beautiful and easy to clean. No more cleaning under burners for spill overs. No more burner pans to replace. Cleaning oven quick and easy. I love everything about my new range.

Cooktop not well thought out

I'm a little disappointed with this induction range. I had hoped with the good rating their next higher level model had from a leading consumer review site, that this would be a good choice. I went to eight different appliance dealers in the Los Angeles area and none of them had one in stock to look at.
When the induction works, it is one of the best cooking experiences I've ever had. My biggest issue is that I can't really use any induction-ready pan with a base smaller than 6 inches in diameter. I even bought a highly rated stainless steel hob and it causes the cooktop to overheat faster than it works to heat up my smaller pans.
The placement of the smaller induction burner in the back, immediately in front of the controls means I risk burns trying to make changes when I'm using my bamboo steamer on top of a stainless steel pan.
I was surprised that it works well with a couple of my cheaper frying pans. However, I was disappointed that my trusty cast iron griddle/grill pan won't work with both FlexCook burners. I purchased this model especially because of the FlexCook option.
I also wish I'd been able to see the back of the range before I purchased it. We paid an electrician to install the proper connection, but it's sticking so far out that the range is pushed three inches out from the wall. If I'd been able to see the back, I would've known to have them install it much lower.
Despite the cooktop, the oven is wonderful. It heats up quickly and so far everything I've baked has turned out great.
I do not recommend this model.
Pros: oven
Cons: poor layout of cooktop, flexcook doesn't work well, location of controls
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Response from Samsung USBy Ms. SamsungHQMarch 26, 2015
Hi GodzillatheCook,

We appreciate your feedback, both the good and the bad, and I'll be sure to share your comments about the placement of burners and availability of installation information with the appropriate teams. Please note that the information about pan size selection relative to the size of the induction cook top elements is available in the user manual, which can be downloaded as a pdf file from this website prior to purchase.

On a high note, I'm very happy to hear that your experience cooking with the induction technology and using the oven have been positive ones!

Best,
Ms. Samsung

Happy With My New Range

This is my first induction range, and I am having a lot of fun with it. I bought a new set of French cookware just to use with it. The level of control that you get on the cooktop is just amazing. Pans get to temperature quickly and stay that temperature, they don't get hotter. Pans heat on all sides, not just the bottom. The price was a lot less than the major "American" brands. The oven is huge and does a really nice job with baked goods. The oven thermostat seems to be a little off (low) when roasting, I'm going to calibrate it. The whole thing cleans up very easily, especially the "knobless" panel. My only quibbles: The display has tiny print, kind of hard to read. Similarly, the blue clock is stylin' but also small and hard to see from a distance. The beeper for the oven is really loud and beeps five times, I think you can turn it off but not lower the volume. The manual seems to be printed on tissue paper, not good for a $$$$ appliance. A PDF is easily available.
Pros: Inexpensive, great performance, huge oven
Cons: display hard-to-read
