Purchased the unit in March of 2014, nothing but problems. It will run most of the time, will not freeze, have to shut it down let it set for awhile and it may start freezing. Had to look for a replacement for out 11 year old dishwasher and we stayed away from GE
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This refrigerator feature deluxe quiet design, so it is much quieter than our old GE frig we purchased 20 years ago. We use this as our second frig.

I had gone without a regular size refrigerator for several years. I had one of those small ones like you bring to college. I bought my GE an feel like a queen now! I can buy regular size food items and still have room left over. It's wonderful to finally own a new appliance like this!

Loud noise coming from freezer

After 2 1/2 years this model makes an extremely loud humming or droning sound which appears to be coming from the freezer fan. Impossible to live with this noise, and a refrigerator and it's parts should last for more than 2.5 years.
Good thing for others that this model is discontinued.

Extremely Loud, Makes noises constantly

The unit itself keeps items cool and frozen however the refrigerator never stops making weird sounds when the condenser is on or when the refrigerator is on idle mode. If you have a bedroom near this unit it will definitely keep you up with these weird noises. Very Disapointed with this unit

Loud but tolerable

I do agree with other posts that the fan is loud when it runs, but overall, it's not any louder than my old refrigerator that was 20 years old! For the price, it is acceptable. If you require a quieter refrigerator, than purchase a more expensive model. Overall, I love my new refrigerator!
