Weakest wifi signal and death grip.

Such a shame,I received this tab today and it has the WORST/WEAKEST WIFI SIGNAL and DEATH GRIP.
If you cover the bottom left corner you will see how the wifi bars and signal start to disappear until you get disconnected, that being said you'd better be left-handed or get rid of this device.
It is beautiful and price is not that bad....but Samsung, please, make the basic features work properly.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color, design
Cons: poor wifi signal, weak wifi signal, death grip
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

External SD card difficult to access - Bad Android

This is a quality Samsung product. Unfortunately I was misinformed when I purchased it. I believed that after installing a 32 GB card, id be able to use it. You csnnot install or move apps to the external card. Also Google music and Gallery fail to recognize and cannot be directed to the external card making the tab an 8GB phone only without the phone!! To make matters worse, most apps are for phones (vertical orientation) which looks stupidly small on this large screen. I have to constantly expand the screen, slide around to read text. Typing this review is frustrating trying to get the box in just the right spot. Ugh. Should have gotten ipad mini :(
Pros: quality built
Cons: android and lack of tablet apps

Lacking

The purchase was a gift. Had I known about this I would have steered them clear because of the known lack of support, lack of upgrades and the inability to place apps on the SD card. If I were to purchase for myself this would not have been my first choice.

Lags behind

As a longtime Samsung customer, I've been satisfied, experienced and come to expect all Samsung products to be cutting edge; unfortunately, I cannot say that about this tablet. I was previously on the fence about whether I needed to own a tablet, as I already own a Samsung smartphone. I decided to invest in this tablet as a means for increasing productivity and mobility at home and work.
The issues I faced with this tablet were the following: 1. Screen resolution of the WSVGA (1024x600) was far below expectation, especially when Samsung smartphones have HD Super AMOLED™ technology (1280x800) with crisp, true color; 2. The capacitive touchscreen TFT LCD (PLS) response lagged quite a bit. At times, the response was so hesitant that I wondered if there would be any response at all; 3. Wireless signal seemed to be "hit or miss", even when I was in the same room in direct line of sight to the router; 4. The performance of the 1GHz dual-core Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 processor matched that of the touch screen; 5. The photosensor detecting subtle light changes dimmed the screen almost to black on nearly every occasion.
The issues that I encountered were too daunting to rationalize keeping this tablet, so I returned it and will stick with my Samsung smartphone.
Pros: Durable
Cons: Not high def, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bottom plug of the 30pin type is bad, most people rest the bottom on their bellies or chest, so plug will go bad. Also its a 30 PIN PLUG. Why cant it be more universal.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, bad plug design, 30 pin plug
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great for beginners

I was excited when I first made this purchase. Android 4.0 updating to 4.1.1 Jelly Bean in the near future. Compact and powerful is what I thought. What I actually got was a very slow and lethargic tablet. Touchscreen is slow at best and for a good portion of the time very unresponsive. Some of the features(most Samsungs own apps) lock up the tablet, enough to where I have to hold the power button down for 45 seconds to get it to reboot. Not worth the frustration for me.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love..this..tablet!

I picked the GT2 7" because I wanted a smaller tablet that I could easily carry in my purse, but I also wanted one that would give me good performance and features. This little guy didn't disappoint. AllShare is a fantastic feature that I use on a regular basis at home and it works well on this device, and I've yet to experience any lag, unexpected shutdowns, or any of the oddities that sometimes come with owning an Android device. In fact I've found this tablet to be more responsive and smooth in operation, than any other tablet I've tried out. The screen is clear and vibrant, sound quality is not bad either, so watching movies on it is rather enjoyable. Battery life surprised me as well, and I found that I could easily spend over 3 hours of non-stop use buried neck deep in my Sodoku game and not even hit 60%. And that's with the WiFi on, updates to Twitter, and other such updates running in the background.
I purchased this tablet mainly for the purposes of movies and games so having these qualities makes it a perfect match for me. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this tablet and have already recommended it to several others due to its great performance for me.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight, responsive, good battery performance
I would recommend this to a friend!
