It does a good job but there are two problems: 1. It takes a lot of pressure and effort to start it and 2. The cap with blade doesn't remain tightly closed and liquids are spilled sometimes.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've used it from grinding coffee a lot better than the small grinders , making smoothies, making sandwich spreads etc. Very easy to cleanup.

While in Target picking up a few things, the NutriBullet caught my eye. I have three college age daughters that are sports, health enthusiasts. So I bought a NutriBullet and gave it to my youngest, who is still at home. She loved it. She and my wife generally use it twice a day for healthy smoothies. The following weekend all the girls were home. Well, I had to buy another NutriBullet for college! We love it. I like to grind my coffee beans in it. Really a must have for any kitchen.
