Handle Peels

The quality of this microwave is subpar for the price. The microwave handle is plastic with a stainless steel colored sticker covering it. It is peeling after only 2 years of use. The peeling is exacerbated by the handle sitting directly over the most powerful burner on the GE cafe gas stove which it is designed to go with below.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

multiple failures over the two years owned, the latest out of warrenty problem with the control panel and requires nearly the entire cost of the microwave to repair.
unfortunate as the unit performs well when working.

Terrible door handle

This microwave is less than 2 years old. The door is made of plastic and wrapped in foil. Over 6 months ago, the foil on the handle started peeling. Your only replacement option is a new door. I would not recommend this product!

Handle is peeling, flakes falling into food while cooking, cuts from sharp edge of peeling material. Looks like material underneath is plastic. My cafe stove has metal handle, why skimp on handle on microwave!

Handle Pealing

I've had this microwave for about a year and the handle is pealing. It seems to be common problem. Not sure why this handle is plastic when the handles to my other cafe appliances are metal.
