who designed this? have that person ever tried to put a phone on this?
phone=glass slab on a piece of smooth plastic in a tilted angle without any ledge to hold onto the phone?? NO, that's not a ledge, that's a tiny curved plastic so the phone has even less surface to touch. The phone slides off immediately just by thinking touching it. You guys cannot afford a designer?

I should have never purchased this product online. Lesson learned. Next time I will go to the trouble of getting in the car and going to a store.
The instructions are completely inadequate but that is really irrelevant since the cord that was sent with the charger does not fit the charger. There was even a note that said "you may need to buy a new cord".
Are you kidding me. This wasn't some discount deal from a no name retailer, this was a direct purchase from Samsung and I need to buy a new cord.
Shame on you Samsung. I used to be a fan.
Cons: factory issued cord did not fit. bought new cord

Keeps "pausing" the charge after just a few moments, LED is WAY too bright

I've been trying this thing every night since I received it. Only twice has it actually charged my phone (Galaxy Note 5) to 100%. I've tried my girlfriend's S6 as well, and it doesn't work for her the two nights I tested it.
The issue is that the charger keeps going into some sort of "charging is paused" mode, and stops charging. It goes into this mode usually within a minute of putting the phone on the charger.
If you search on google for "Samsung wireless charge pause" you'll get countless reviews from people with the same issue, and no solution.
I've tried the following, based on suggestions from those who had some level of success (but none worked permanently):
- Changing the "Daydream" mode
- Taking the phone out of it's case
- Placing a business card or two between the phone and the charger
- Replaced the included charge cord with a higher-quality, lower resistance cord
- Replaced the included charge cord with a shorter cable (this worked one night, but never again)
- changed to a different plug in my house on a different circuit
- Changing the "Daydream" mode
- Taking the phone out of it's case

Next is the LED light. This version of the wireless charger stands the phone more upright. There are two places where I can see this being a useful upgrade over the flat table top one: at a desk, and on a nightstand so you can see the screen without having to hold the phone upright. The problem with that last one, is that the LED button on the bottom edge of the charger, facing out, is crazy bright. And worse than that, is when the charger goes into pause mode, the light blinks.
Worst Samsung product I've ever used, and I'm on my 3rd phone (Droid Charge, Galaxy S6 and Note 5), 2nd TV, 2nd BluRay player, and 3rd PC monitor, as well as our clothes washer and dryer.
I'm going to be trying to return the unit, as it seems like it's a very common problem for many many users, with no solution for those with the issue.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, led is too bright, doesn't actually perform it's function
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Stopped working after a month

I purchased two of these when I bought my S8+, having had great success with it's predecessor for my S6.
This model has a more convenient design, keeping the phone upright so I can see the clock at night.
That's where the fun ends though. I ended up oversleeping one day as my bedside unit went into "slow flashing blue light"/non-charging mode and let my battery die, so my alarm couldn't go off at the set time. Even after multiple resets - both charger and phone - it still stops charging and just flashes after a few minutes of use.
My office unit today starting doing the same "slow flashing blue light" thing, so I guess it's not long for this world either.
I notice Samsung discontinued the windshield mount Qi charger for the S8 series; can't help but wonder if it was a related issue.
Pros: convenient (when it works)
Cons: Poor quality, unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
