I had to replace my old water pik, so bought this one (so I don't have to unplug the toothbrush to blow dry my hair, e.g.). It is more powerful (sonic mode toothbrush), and I can't go a day without using this or I notice my gums retaining a "treasure hunt" of junk. Invaluable to anyone with gum disease. OH, it also stores the various brushes and tips in the handy side compartment!!!
