Microphone doesn't seem to work with iPad apps

Sound quality is very good. Loud enough to hear while cooking or showering. Pairing was simple. Microphone is recognized by my Mac mini, although the input level seems low. Is this product supposed to work as voice input for iPad apps? It works on iPhone calls but doesn't seem to be recognized for voice recording and other audio input functions on apps. I will rate again once I figure this part out. The included and online manuals are useless. Just some pictures. Waiting for a reply from JBL.

won't charge

I didn't have this very long and it quit charging. I live in Brazil and had a local technician look at it and the battery is bad. When i called JBL I was told that they do not sell the batteries. so, I have a useless piece of equipment and no support. Never again a JBL product!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Piece of a bad product!

I bought this speaker in April 2014 when they just arrived in a local store in Mexico.
Everything nice for more than one year. I think I recharged the speakers no more than 20 cycles.
I'm a professor, so I use the speakers in class. Last Saturday (August 2015), after a normal charge previous night, I turned on the speaker to play a video, but even when it was detected by the computer via Bluetooth, no sound was coming out.
So, I "disconnected" the speaker from Bluetooth settings and turned it off physically; I pressed the power button back again and SURPRISE!: nothing happened, zero, nada. It just stopped working. I tried charging the speaker with no avail: they went dead.
I WAS IN FRONT OF A FULL AUDIENCE OF 55 STUDENTS!!!
I noticed a small curvature between the grill and the back panel, so I assumed probably the battery became swollen.
I realized then that there is not a JBL representative in Mexico, nor a qualified service.
These speakers are disposables!!!
What a disappointment of one of the best speakers brand in the world... 30 years ago.
I'm going somewhere else.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fun and clear

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned my flip 2 for a year and it is all I was hoping it would be.
the clarity is perfect.
I was not sure such a small speaker would work so well for what I needed and the ease of use is outstanding. It plays my music how I like it and it reads my audio tapes crisp and clear.
One of the best buys I ever made.

Great little speaker!!

I love my new Flip 2 speaker. It is very portable and sounds good. I use it in the kitchen and on my deck. I am
going to bring it in the car for long trips to use as a speaker phone. My only regret is getting the white. I am sure it will get dingy when I start bringing it by the pool and to the beach this summer.

Really great sound

We used this product for the first time last weekend on a dock at Lake of the Ozarks. We streamed iHeart Radio and it sounded great. Even dropped it on the dock twice from about 4 feet and it was fine. I'd buy this product again and again.

My wife bought the Flip 2 for herself....I had to snag this little jewel. The sound quality is beyond what I expected out of a small package. You can crank it up and not hear any distortion.
I would recommend this to a friend!
