Love the fridge, but compressor only lasts 3 years

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When researching fridges, I read over and over that this fridge’s compressor would go out after 3 years. I went ahead and purchased it because it had the 5 year warranty on the compressor. Sure enough, at the 3 years, 5 months mark it stopped cooling and repair guy confirmed it was the compressor. LG had a technician out in about 5 days (which seems like forever without a working fridge). The guy was here for two hours and replaced three major components. It didn’t cost us anything. It’s working great now. So, my takeaway is that the customer service is great…they stand my their warranty and it’s pretty hassle free. I love all of the features of the fridge. It’s nice and roomy for our family of 7. Just be prepared for it to stop working after three years, knowing they’ll take care of it. I just hope it doesn’t stop working again after another three years when the warranty is up! Three grand is a little too much to drop for an appliance that only works for three year spurts if so!

I chose it because of the second refrigerator drawer being accessible for my young grandson. I wanted him to be able to easily grab his snacks and etc. It stays cool and it’s just a gorgeous appliance. I am very pleased with my LG product.

However, it quit working and there was no one to repair it, so LG gave me a pro-rated refund to purchase a new fridge. I just can't find one I like as much, so I'm really sad to lose this one.
