I love this fridge. The lay out is awesome. Love the in the door ice maker. However, the compressor went out under warranty. The ice maker won’t make ice unless all the freeEr air flow vents are completely not blocked. Hard to keep something from being up against it in the freezer. Currently waiting for the repairman because the fridge won’t cool lower than 50F and freezer not below 18-22F so I’ve maker won’t dump ice unless below 15F. Frustrating for my favorite fridge if I could just keep it performing properly!

In less than 1 year we have replaced the compressor twice and ice maker three times. Is there a recall related to this?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this back in 2019 but the compressor went out after 4 yrs. I have another LG that is way older and still running without any issues. Wish the quality of the compressor for this newer fridge matched that quality. So I recommend to buy the extended warranty for the fridge. We got this fixed within 2 weeks-wish it was sooner but I guess thats the process.

Have had the unit now for 4 years. Over all that time it has been plagued with little problems like; ice maker sometimes would not work, freezer evap compartment froze up 2x, when you clean the freezer (or defrost) it takes days for the freezer, empty or full to get back to its dialed in temperature. It actually rarely if ever achieves or holds that temp. Because of the freezing up issues it has made noise seemingly more often than not. Buzzing sound. Last but not least it came with some kind of coating or smudges which when we complained were put off as fingerprints. That's not been the case as fingerprints come right off with the stainless cleaner but those smudges do not.
Pros: ease of use

Worked until 2 mos past 5 yr warranty. Repair costs too high, so disposable after 5 yrs.

I bought this refrigerator 6 years ago, the 5 year extended warranty ran out after 5 years. I called the lg representative and they told me about their 10 compressor warranty. Called a certified repair technician and they swapped out the compressor found a leak in a valve. Now it seams to working fine. It was a long process but cheaper than a new one.
