Ice up yearly

Had my LMXS30776s for almost 3 years now. After 1 first year the evaporator coil started to ice up and has so ever since. Call for service and been told the repair can be several hundred dollars. So about once a year when we hear a loud noise from the evaporator fan blade chopping at the ice buildup we will empty the refrig, open the doors, and remove the power for about 24 hours. A lot of water from the ice melting will be on the floor but the ice buildup is gone and the refrig is ready for another year.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice layout but unreliable

After owning this unit for less than three years it has already required 4 service calls. Two separate calls for ice buildup (causing water damage to our floors), one call to replace a failed control panel, and a call today because the fridge failed again and is not cooling. Our faith in LG reliability is exhausted and we will be purchasing a different brand. Not what we expected considering the price of the fridge. It comes as no suprise this model is discintinued.
Pros: Style/Design, ease of use, Features/Settings
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Horrible product !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this lmxs30777d refrigerator hoping to get a good product for what it costs ! Have had nothing but problems . On my 3rd replacement unit! Units just stops cooling and freezing . Only had it 123 years before having issues. Worst decision was to purchase this product

Great addition to our kitchen

So far this refrigerator has been great. Lots of room and the method of storage makes it very easy to locate specific items. Separate trays in freezer allows for easy access as well as using the chiller drawer for deli products and wine bottles. The door in door feature is nice for grabbing often used items.

great features but defective

i ordered all LG appliances(6) for my new home, all are ok except the refrigerator. out of excitement i did not notice well yesterday when they delivered the refrigerator. today i noticed that the 2 french door doors are not even and there is a visible difference. I am not sure if LG is going to take care of it or not but i am very disappointed. Hope at least the manufacturer warranty will either replace or fix the issue if it is minor.

LOVE this fridge!

My wife and I have had this fridge for 3 months and LOVE it! We originally were looking at a different brand, but loved the little extras this fridge had. 1- Filter and ice maker in door leaving a full top shelf. Love having the full shelf, so much more room. 2- Quick grab outer door for beverages. The other brand we looked at had this feature but you couldn't access it from the inside of the door. Being able to access it from either side is such a nice feature we love and use...and its one of the things that sold us on this fridge. 3 - Extra refrigerated drawer. We honestly didn't care about this feature. We don't have kids and that was kind of the big sell - "perfect for kids snacks." We decided to go for it anyways. My wife and I are health nuts and usually have a ton of eggs and quick grab prepped meals. This drawer has been great for this. SO glad we decided to spend the extra money for this feature.
A couple other things we love: This replaced a well working but 10 year old fridge. But we have noticed that our produce stays fresher way longer now. Also the lighting inside is great. So well lit and lets face it, the LED lights just look cool.
The only complaint I would have is that the fridge does make a soft high pitch noise we weren't used to when the compressor is running. I don't notice it too much but my wife does. Its minor, this wouldn't deter us from buying this fridge again if we had it to do over again. Just nit picking.
We love this fridge and would highly recommend it.

Perfect for entertainers and large families

So far we are very pleased with our choice. The chill drawer makes a super go to drawer for wine and beer /soda for party time without letting the cold out of this massive capacity machine. This could also work as an after school snack drawer if you have kids about the house. The extra "mini" door is also a nice touch for those often used items without opening the whole fridge. Large freezer capacity with 2 trays allows for easy viewing when searching for items. Freezer and fridge temps are adjustable but ice cream stays perfect at the zero setting. Some may complain about the small capacity ice maker but it has an express cycle and it works! Also I just unload the bin and bag it for the freezer in advance of a party. I think the only frustrating factor has been that the water and ice machines won't dispense when the door is open on either side but it really isn't a big deal. I would say if I were to complain it would be the price of replacement filters. This model has a much bigger price tag than all the rest.
We also lost power with all these snow storms and the machine started up perfectly when it came back on. This is a very nice product!

Best fridge we've ever owned

This fridge, after working out a few kinks during set-up, has turned out to be fantastic. It has tons of storage and great ways to organize. Although I was fearful of the small ice bin and the lack of ice, I have found it supplies more than enough ice for our family each day. Perhaps if I'm having a party I would buy a bag of ice to have extra, however, I would have done that with my old fridge that had a mammoth sized ice maker and tray....that I might add took up so much space. I knew I wanted door-in-door and the extra drawer above the freezer and nobody seems to make it except LG. My son has many allergies and eats via a feeding tube for the majority of his intake, however, for the limited amount of things he can eat this drawer has become his so he can access it whenever he likes. He is 5 years old now so it's a perfect height for him. This is our first LG product but after this wonderful experience with the quality of product and great experience with customer service we will be replacing many of our household items in the future with LG brand.
