Just past the 3 year point of ownership and the whole unit failed.
Looking at Consumer Affairs.com indicates that this is a common issue for LG Refrigerators. There are several class action lawsuits against them for issues surrounding the reliability of their stuff.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After delivery as i am putting in all my food from my old frig, i realize there is no place to put condiments. I am so used to having all the shelves on the doors. These doors have small shelves but you can't put your mustard, pickles, mayo etc in them. I had to use part of a big shelf to put these items. How they are not easy to find. As you can tell this REALLY bugs me. The rest of the frig is very nice.

We have ample storage room even though the size is monstrous we feel it’s a great trade off. Also the mid drawer is so convenient. The ice maker is small, but easy to use. If you use ice a lot for entertaining I recommend having a back up bag.
