Great phone, but limited by a locked bootloader.

I love this phone (Verizon variant) but I can't stand the unlocked boot loader. I really enjoy being able to really "own" my phone and do with it what I want, but with a locked boot loader I cannot install what I want on "my" phone. I also dont see the need to buy a "developer" edition phone to use the exact same hardware except Samsung will unlock the boot loader on it (simple set of algorithmic code). More phone manufactures need to take a key from google with the Nexus line and provide the ability to unlock your own boot loader, free of charge.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I just upgraded from my old Droid 4 and I could not be happier. It is everything I expected it to be and more
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight

Nice phone. I like the ease of camera of the galaxy 4 better but getting used to it. Also needs front speaker. When talking to people they cannot hear me unless I am speaking directly in the front of phone. It if tilts at all they cannot hear me.

Save for a couple of negatives the Samsung Galaxy S5 delivers

My Samsung GS5 is by far the best cell phone I've ever owned! Performance is awesome, some of the features are great; some are not needed. The battery performance was superb before the Lollipop update but I'm hoping that more updates will improve this feature. However, it's still not bad considering my previous phones' batteries died in 6 to 7 hours. I made adjustments to my Galaxy S5 by disabling apps that zap the power from the battery and take up a lot of resources on my phone. I'm happy with the improvement but not elated. With all due respect, the fingerprint feature is useless but there are other options that Samsung gives you which work well. For the life of me, I don't know why developers can't leave WELL ENOUGH ALONE! You've got a great product why botch it up with an update that ate up some of my device's memory. Folks, 16 GB is not enough and I'm down to 6. Sure I have my 32 GB SD card installed. Some of the features won't allow me to move items over to my SD card. I've deleted cached items which helps a little but not a whole lot. Also, I don't like the speaker being in the back of the phone. Why was this even considered? The camera is very good--much better than my former Droid Razr. Majority of phones have bloatware and Samsung is no exception. I deleted some applications that I felt were not necessary. S-Health features are nice but again it's not really necessary nor always accurate. Samsung is a very reputable company and you know you'll be getting a good product but please start listening more to your customers rather than those so-called online experts who, for some reason, are partial to any given brand. I like the fact that the battery is removable. Good on you, Samsung, for that! The colors are crisp and clear on the display but to save battery I often switch on the Power-Saving feature to black and white. Very wise on Samsung's part. Just give us more device memory at an affordable price and even better battery performance, less bloatware, speaker in the front, and I'll be happy! And please find out beforehand what havoc the updates may wreak on our phones. Make sure the glitches are out beforehand not after the fact. Thank you.

There is a lot on this phone for people, like me, who uses there phone for every thing. There is only one or two things I wish it had and that is the extra volume button and noise reduction that the 4 had.

Best phone I ever owned I don't even want to upgrade for the 6.. I mean I do but I want to stay with this one for ever.... words can't explain how much this phone can do for you...
