OVERALL, my experience with this phone has been GOOD! I only wouldn't recommend it now because it's 2 generations old and the screen flickering problem (see below).
The issues I have had with my s5 phone are as follows:
1) Most recently, the screen flickers when the light level is low and often requires multiple tries to get the screen to turn on. Very annoying and occasionally disruptive (like when trying to answer a phone call and the phone won't turn on before the call is sent voice mail.
2) Three sets of apps that can't be deleted. I have Samsung Apps, Verizon Apps and Google apps for many of the same things. If I only want to use Google apps, or other 3rd party apps, that's fine... but you can't actually delete the 3 app sets, so your total storage is limited.
3) Battery drains quickly ... this happened pretty quickly after I got the phone. I replaced the battery once and have recently done a Factory reset and will say that after the reset, the power seemed to last longer, so it's got to be background apps running ... but there isn't an easy way to check that, And now that I have to keep the Screen bright to avoid the flickering, the battery drains even faster. It's practically a land line now...
4) The settings interface is very complicated. I have seen settings options appear in one place and not another and then have never been able to find them again!
Cons: screen flickering after 1.5 yeasr, short battery life with normal apps installed
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I really enjoyed my S5 while it lasted. The graphics and speed were great. The selling points for me were the water resistance and microSD slot. The camera functioned okay, not so well in dimmer environments. When I would take photos at an event and would compare with my friends, their photos often looked sharper and had better color.
Great to watch shows/movies. The speakers were very good and the sound quality was maintained at louder levels.
Overall, the S5 exceeded all of my mobile needs for two years and then the screen died and the phone would not power on. I would recommend to others, although I will not be purchasing again at the full retail.
Pros: Durable, Built-in speakers
Cons: expensive
I would recommend this to a friend!

My S4 was killed in an accident on duty. I looked around for a replacement and couldn't resist my S5. A nice refinement and improvement of the S4.
This phone is very good the only thing is I got hacked and its been a nightmare. Still having issues other than that the phone is good I love it just want to use it and cant.
The phone is solid. Unfortunately, mine was received as a replacement for another Samsung S5 which broke in an accident; the replacement has issues with the LCD screen. Otherwise, it performs very well unless you try to run too many apps simultaneously.
