Everything is very effective for my use. The only problem I have relates to getting weather. It keeps basing it on the town next to my actual location. Also, when I go to the Accu-Weather site to see each day detailed it brings me to a page that keeps stating this page does not support zooming and I can't see anything. Weird. Never happened with my S III.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable
I would recommend this to a friend!

Car Mode KILLS the value of this phone
on October 18, 2014

I'm a Galaxy guy. This is my third from Samsung. I am a hair away from getting an iPhone 6 instead. The Car Mode function is the primary culprit. When I climb into my car, and the phone connects via bluetooth, I am able to play music and take calls through my car speakers, which is lovely. However, it turns on this little native app called Car Mode. When activated, it will automatically start playing music found on the phone's hard drive. This means that if I am not playing any music, and I don't want any music, it will play it anyway. It also means that if I am playing music through Spotify or Pandora, it will STOP that music, and start playing a random song found on the hard drive. I even disabled Google Play Music as I mistakenly thought that was the problem. It's 100% Samsung. The worst part of Car Mode is that I can't turn it off. It has a button allowing you to turn off Car Mode, but it will AUTOMATICALLY turn back on, even if you don't want it to...even if you're not in a car! I'll be walking down the street (or even sitting still) and find that the phone in my pocket is dialing an international number. Car Mode activates the screen. If you have the phone in your pocket, in a car, then it's game over. Your phone will start doing things without your consent. If I could truly disable Car Mode from ever turning on, I can live with that. But right now the only way this phone can be functional for my purposes is if I root it and install a different operating system, or throw it under a bus tire and get an iPhone instead.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color
Cons: Did not meet expectations, expensive, does things by itself
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Simply the best compuphone I have had!

I call it a compuphone as it is very much a computer with a cell phone built in. This phone is the Ferrari of cell phones, it is fast thanks to its 2.5 GHz Quad-Core processor, that is four cores!, such as this was not very long ago heard of in a cell phone! Games play smoothly at the highest settings in the games. The camera is outstanding at a full 16.0 Megapixels that is superior to the digital camera I owned recently and it was high end, the pictures are crisp and it's easy to use. The internal ROM of 16 Gig is more than sufficiently large, add up to 128 Gig Memory Card and its simply immense, all this storage makes the phone an all around delight to use as you can have a dizzying amount of apps and many other items. The only downside I find with the phone is the battery, which depletes rather quickly under a more than average load and with the WiFi enabled. But this can be solved relatively easily by a quick search on amazon for extended batteries or other charging devices. Plus I find the Fingerprint Scanner wonderful for security and access, it saves a great deal in typing. Add a Samsung Gear watch and your at the top of your game! ;-) Some serious geek joy!!
If I had reviewed this phone prior to being forced to upgrade to "lollipop" I would have rated it 5 star all the way. However, since the upgrade I have had nothing but problems with this phone. Battery life is poor, the phone gets hot when you are using it, it's slow and phone connection is poor.
