That although it does print more pages than the regular cartridge the XL doesn’t print even close to the amount of pages hp saids it does. Not even close by far!!

Our promotions are based on an average. This average varies based on temperature, humidity, printing time, types of prints, and many other factors. Act conservatively with your ink cartridges to get the most out of each cartridge. If a page isn't necessary, skip it. If the page must be printed, ensure the print is 100 percent correct before printing.

The ink cartridge is fine. What I can't stand is my HP Printer won't allow me to print in "Black ink Only" when one of my other colored cartridges runs out of ink. I'll never buy an HP Printer again because of this feature. I can print in black only as long as one of the other cartridges hasn't run out of ink yet.
