Great small and fast

I'm a network engineer, I own IPad's and iPhones, and love them. I purchased this today because I've been having more customers purchasing android devices and I wanted to learn more about them, I have to say this is a nice device for the price, I can do everything I do with the IPad except sync my apple devices. speed is great. no lag time. If I could only add a few things it would be more memory than 8GB, memory is cheep so why not! Better speakers and I would like to see someone make a tablet that would last two days easy with the battery and make it a little thicker if they have too. I would give up a little space and weight for longer life, ask anyone and I'm sure they would agree!
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Lightweight
Cons: battery life, speakers, not enough memory
I would recommend this to a friend!

I purchased this after my old tablet decided to die. I like the look, I liked the size of this tablet.
However...
Much to my dismay this tablet is horrendously underperforming for what it is. My last tablet was an Acer B1-730HD that cost less than this, and was a far better performing tablet than this.
Samsung neglects to address these performance flaws, and refuses to update this tablet to a newer build of Android. An update to Lollipop 5.1.1 should really fix these issues.
Lack of saving files to SD card. The podcast downloading software I use will not allow me to save my downloads to the SD card, and instead fill up internal memory. Several apps I use have this problem, and internal memory clogs to the point I can't do anything.
Wifi performance is horrendous. Drops in and out, slow. I have to be literally 6 feet from an N router to get reception. My old tablet I could go outside with. Very lousy as I use my tablet in my garage and cannot get reception.
Marvell chipset is garbage for third party support. Forget about custom ROMs, forget about Cyanogenmod, forget about anything other than this utterly disgusting Touchwiz UI.
This tablet comes inundated with miserable bloat that I can't see anyone having a need for.
Plus sides:
Good amount of RAM, however this thing performs so lousily that it doesn't even matter.
SD card support with move app to SD built in.
Decent speaker.
Great battery life.
Crystal clear screen. Vivid colors and crisp text. Perfect as an e-book reader, and that is about it.

I do not recommend this tablet, nor would I recommend it to a friend unless these glaring issues are resolved.
I will also never buy another Samsung product again.
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display, Built-in speakers, Lightweight, battery life, crisp text, good size
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, poor wifi, poor visual performance, lack of support, refusal to update to 5.1.1, marvell chipset, immense bloat, performance flaws, gaping security concerns
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought this wonderful tablet for my kids. It is easy for them to use and you can't beat the price! I would recommend this product to anyone that has children they wish to entertain during road trips or anytime really.

I have owned a Tab 4 for over a week now and have had no problems. It connects to the web fast and easy and the speed is great. I am still learning about the features on it. I would highly recommend this tab to anyone who wants an easy unit to work with.

i recently purchased this tablet and i'm really dissapointed becouse it runs on kitkat and not lolipop. the lte version (sm-t235) got lolipop. when are we going to get lolipop on sm-t230?
Pros: Inexpensive

This is my second tablet. I owned a 2012 32GigAsus Nexus 7 & the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 is twice the tablet! I recommend it toeeveryone.
Pros: Inexpensive, Lightweight, beautiful design
