A Solid Tablet

I got my samsung galaxy tab 4 7.0 about a year ago and so far, it's still holding up very well. I like the display especially. It's bright and sharp considering the ppi. The dual window feature is also very useful, allowing you to use multiple apps at the same time. It's only available for a select number of applications so I wish it was extended to more apps as well. The smart stay feature, keeping the display lit while your eyes are on the device, is a nice concept although I wasn't able to get it to work as much as I would like. There are a few things I do not like as much. I wish the internal storage was greater. At less than 8 GB (some of the pre-installed apps take a significant amount of space), you are ultimately going to need to get a micro sd card if you want to install a lot of apps.

I have an iPad, and a kindle, but I use the Samsung tab 4 the most...
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, Bright display, Durable

I love the size of this device and the price is great, but no update since kit Kat and the cameras are awful quality. I wish there was a more modern device about the same size.
Pros: Inexpensive, Lightweight
Cons: Not high def, camera quality, lack of new software

First of all, I want to say that this is a great tablet! Compared to an inexpensive off-brand tablet, Samsung's Tab 4 is worlds apart and far surpasses in quality, function, etc. However, I did withhold some starts for one fact only...MEMORY! While this tablet comes with 8GB of internal memory and an expandable memory slot, the problem, first of all, is that the amount of system memory that must be used for the tablet to function is 3.28GB - ALMOST HALF OF THE TOTAL MEMORY IS TAKEN UP! This means that you have barely half of the 8GB to use for yourself which leads to the next problem...external memory. While this is great and gives great potential it is a bit misleading for one reason...while you are told you can expand up to 32GB, I have read you can even use a100+GB memory card-I am using a 64GB card which seems to work fine...NOT ALL APPS CAN BE MOVED TO A MEMORY CARD! If you are a reader as I am, you can get many books on board, but you will have to be careful after a while as you CANNOT move the Kindle app-and I assume others will be the same-due to piracy issues. There are also many other apps in general that do not allow for such a function. So while this is a great tablet, be aware of the minimal usable memory. Frankly, Samsung should have made an additional model that would have been at least 16GB if not 32GB in size. This issue IS a current frustration as I do several things with my tablet and am having to scale it down. Also, my off-brand tablet could handle more in device memory that this one because there was not as much already taken by the firmware. Samsung...GREAT TABLET...HORRIBLE MEMORY CHOICE!!!!

Great for your first tablet!!

I love this tablet I'm 51 years old and this is my first tablet. I mainly use it to Chromcast to my TV and use to to pull up sheet music and guitar chords for learning new songs or relearning old ones. This tablet comes in very handy at open mic night or jams.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, Bright display
Cons: needs better speakers, needs a protective case for sure

I found this product to be sufficient for everyday use. I use this to check my email, browse the internet, and watch youtube. As a light user of the product, I would recommend this to a friend due to its design, color, and functionality. One problem that I could see with this product is the camera. Although I do not really use this feature, the lack of quality in the camera surprised me for a samsung product. Overall, it is a good device.
