Great picture right out of the box

I did a lot of research on line and in different stores before I purchased this TV. Since it was on sale at Best Buy for $2000.00 I decided on this one. Awesome picture right out of the box. Easy set up. The remote is easy to use and to navigate between settings and apps. Colors are bright and true. Up scaling is amazing. I use DirecTV as my source of TV. I find myself watching more of the clarity and awesomeness of the picture quality instead of the content of the show that's on. Sporting events seem to pop off the screen in normal settings (I have not used the SPORTS mode setting yet, but don't think I need too.) No picture lag while watching sports. I kind of don't care for the silver frame but I'm getting used to it. The active 3D glasses work good when converting regular TV to 3D. The active 3D glasses allow you to sit closed to the TV for the 3D effects.
I only wish Samsung would have included another pair of 3D glasses instead of just the one pair.
This TV has HDR and will not be out dated in the near future. Sound from the TV is pretty good. I use a surround sound system so I don't use the TV speakers. I only use the when watching over the air TV stations.( During set up.) I like the connect box, so I only have one wire plus the power cable to run up the wall.( TV is mounted on wall.) The fiber optic sound cable is also in the connect box which makes it easier to plug into my receiver .

Can't Take My Eyes off of You !

I spent a month researching current TV sets and couldn't be happier that Samsung was the winner of my choice. The 8500 series 4K UHD set is very intuitive on set up and required minimal setting tweaks to meet my viewing preferences. It has intense rich color, depth and clarity even on sub prime sources. The Wifi radio sensitivity is very good and the quad core processors have no issues with lag or delay.
Pros: A+ picture, Easy set up, Good sound from on board speaker system, Intuitive menu system, SmartHub menu and options are great., Backlighting is very strong to accommodate any lighting situation, Backlit remote, Stylish slim grey frame and If you own other Samsung products, integration is a breeze.
Cons: Not may short cut keys on remote to access commonly used options such as switching between picture modes or sound options. Some may like the smaller more minimalistic design though. I feel these few shortcomings are offset by the great on screen pointer feature included with the remote that allows you to basically use your remote as a handheld mouse to access TV options/features.
First time Samsung TV owner coming over from a Sony history. Very happy this is the product I chose to spend my money on and won't miss Sony at all.
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display, Built-in speakers, Lightweight, good wifi radio, stylish design, easy intuitive set up
Cons: hoping for more remote shortcuts

Samsung Smart TV Died after less than 3 years.

We bought this Samsung JS8500 4K SUHD Smart TV TV in October 2015. We were very happy with the picture and features, but it suddenly, while viewing, stopped working completely. The fuse and power board are apparently fine, but it simply stopped working. I would not recommend this TV for reliability or quality control We paid a high premium for a high end Samsung, and certainly expected it to last more than 2 and a half years. This was a very disappointing purchase.
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display, Built-in speakers
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Clouding Problem

I bought this TV and have loved it for the last 2 years. Recently I had a clouding problem start from each side of the TV. So, 2 years and no warranty after 1 year, I am stuck with a TV that has a poor picture and gets worse by the week. Be careful when purchasing this TV

Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations

"BAD TO THE BONE"!!!

This TV is awesome right out of the box. I did change the picture mode to Dynamic & turned the Cinema Black on. I might play around with the settings a bit more later.
I read some negative reviews about the Smart Smart Remote, but I don't have any problems working it.
CON:
One thing I wish Samsung would do is to provide the power cord 1' to 2' longer. I replaced my other Samsung 55" tv with this 4K one and the cord was actually a couple of inches shorter. I had to add an extension cord. Samsung needs to realize that not everyone has an electrical outlet perfectly placed.
Other than that, this TV is GREAT. This is my 5th Samsung TV and they are all still working. My 58" Plasma TV is 7 yrs old and still working Great.

This is a great set with and excellent picture. I cannot wait to get time to watch a movie that has lots of special effects. The only thing I am disappointed with is that it does not set level on the stand. I have tried everything, but one side sits about 1/2" lower than the other
