Not good

I scrimped and saved to buy myself a dishwasher and I still have to hand wash my dishes! I bought this dishwasher in May used it about 5 times before the it would not work, called and had to have a new control board put in. This dishwasher does not clean the dishes I wish I had not bought it, I use it for a dish rack. DON'T WAIST YOUR MONEY!!!!!!

Hey Lil Bit, I can tell how frustrated you are with the dishwasher. I have some ideas to help with cleaning! The “sweet” spot for water temperature is between 120-125 degrees (at the water heater) for the best cleaning and drying potential. Make sure you run the water in the sink until it is hot (like you do before getting in the shower). Using high temp wash, or sanitize can also improve cleaning and drying performance. The hot water line to the dishwasher must provide water pressure between 20 and 120 psi. Don’t forget the rinse aid (it really makes a difference), in hard water you may need to increase the amount of rinse aid dispensed, and the amount of detergent you use (page 10 and 11 in your Owner’s Manual). States like Wisconsin have notoriously hard water. Some granular detergents can combine with hard water minerals and form a residue that would stick to the interior of the dishwasher and the dishes. Is the heater (inside on the bottom of the dishwasher) covered by a heavy mineral or calcium scale (looks like white spots on the heater)? If it is, start a cycle with no dishes in it. Once it has finished the initial fill, add 1 cup of white vinegar to the bottom and let it finish the cycle. Take out the spinning arms and rinse them thoroughly in the sink. You will notice if they do not spin freely when they are in the dishwasher. I hope this helped! Your friendly Frigidaire lady, Ruth

cleans well, could be better designed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] the dishwasher cleans well, which I appreciate. The latch always feels like I'm breaking it when I open, which I fear will happen at some point.
My biggest complaint is that the silverware compartment does not have a snug place to live- I have tried all 4 sides of the dishwasher. It falls over when the silverware is placed in it, and is a real annoyance.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for sharing your dishwasher experience, cmbee26. Concerning the latch on the dishwasher, is the gasket installed properly and not separated anywhere? Check that the door gasket is pressed into its mounting channel, reaches to the bottom of the tub and does not extend beyond the end rib so as to interfere with door closure. Pages 8 and 9 in your Owner’s Manual shows some recommended loading patterns. According to the illustrations, the bottom right side is the recommended spot for the silverware basket. It does it's job

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had the dishwasher about 6 weeks.. It does it's job... I like it ,I don't love it...I do like it cuz it's not loud. The reason I say it's average is because the racks where you put the dishes are very shallow and kinda cheaply made . They don't seem deep enough or durable. So far it has cleaned the dishes well .

Great dishwasher
