Perfect Replacement

Our original appliances were over 14 years old and while still functioning were showing their age. We needed a slide in model which limited our options to some degree. In addition, my wife did not want stainless steel mainly because she did like the look but the stories about them needed extra cleaning to keep them looking clean was a factor as well.
We visited most of the big box stores and read a ton of reviews on line and decided that the new "slate" finish on the GE line met my wife's design/color requirements and the overall reviews were good but we were concerned about several reviews that mentioned a noisy fan that ran all the time and there were no knobs did not have detentes so the burners were subject to being turned on accidentally.
I installed the stove my self, installing the recommend new cord, leveling and sliding the unit into place took less than an hour. We also noticed that the control knobs did have detentes (a pleasing plus) and there were notices attached to the unit indicating that a cooling fan to safe guard the electronic could continue to run after the oven/burners are turned off. After using the oven we did notice the fan ran for a while but noise level was quite low.
The anti-tipping bracket was easy to install and the unit came with three oven racks. So far the oven seems to be bake things a little quicker then the old oven even without using the convection option.

Love the style of this stove

I am really enjoying this new stove. I do have a couple of criticisms though. The top is really not easy to clean with the provided product and the rough finished on the are beneath the knobs gets dirty really quickly along with the plastic cover on the oven buttons- I think this could be redesigned to allow for a cleaner look.

Great stove

Had it for 3 months now and no complaints. Stove top sides extend over the countertop and stops solids from dropping down the crack. Front right element has 3 power settings. Like most stoves the storage tray underneath is a bit flimsy but overall we are very pleased with it.

Good Stove

Overall, a good stove for the money. I find that it bakes evenly and consistently so far. The top is easy to clean and heats up very quickly. I find that this stove boils water much quicker than a previous model I had. Things I don't like about the stove are that the knobs on the front feel cheap and are not tight when you turn them. They have quite a bit of play in them. There is a learning curve to the oven controls...if you put in a temperature and don't press start then of course it won't start heating up. I have done this on many occasions only to come back an hour later and realize I never started the oven.

I don't like the glass top! I cook and bake a lot! You can't put anything hot from the oven to the top of the stove. The first time I cooked on it the second day I had it, I boiled potatoes and the pot left 2 small scratches on the burner. No matter what pot you boil in the pot is going to wiggle! I hate that I have to be Soooo careful.

Functional Stove...nice features

After much research and good reviews I decided on this stove. It has some nice features but the one that tipped the scale was the 'overhanging ceramic glass cook-top'. I wanted a sleek look to go with the smooth quartz. No more gap between the stove and the cabinet. I have had the stove about 2 months and it is working well. The ceramic is easy to clean and buffs to a shine. The elements are plentiful. Another feature that caught my eye with this stove was the 3 ring burner. That however has not met my expectation. The smallest ring is slow to heat and not very hot. It is not until I use the 2 ring burner it really heats up. The other burners are fine and I end up using those. One burner has a melting setting which I like and there is a 'warm zone' which could have been somewhat larger. The control panel is covered with a heavy plastic so it looks like it will hold up. The knobs are stainless and hefty, I like that feature. The oven seems to take an inordinate amount of time to heat and as soon as it turns on the fan blows warm air out. When turned off it is still running to cool the oven. It is a quiet operation. The broiler is very hot on 'HI' and there is a lower setting. The bottom drawer is rather small for this size a stove and it is somewhat flimsy. I am used to storing pans in there but I don't have the room in this drawer. For a seamless look in the back you will need a piece of whatever material you used for the counter top. GE has a piece for the back as an add-on. All in all I am happy with it.

We remodeled our kitchen and bought the GE stove. I really like the the cooktop. It has a variety of burner options for different sized pans. I also enjoy the warming burner. It's perfect for keeping pancakes or other items warm while finishing up a meal. The burners heat up fast which took some getting used to.
