the smell of the oven first clean was horrible made my eyes burn had to open the doors and windows just doesn't seem right that something you cook in should have that smell at all the first one I had rouined my thanksgiving dinner because it tasted like the oven odor I have had this one for two days and still don't know if I'm going to keep it why things are not the way they used to be amazes me hopefully the thing will lose that putrid odor and ruin any more food

Disappointing for a GE Product

I purchased the stove to duplicate a GE glass top stove I have owned for more than 10 years at another home. I still love that stove's features. And that is what I thought i was buying. Not so. I am very disappointed in my new stove that I bought in September 2016. The glass top has two etched lines to indicate the bridge feature linking two burners for my griddle. The bridge does not function at all! There is no element connecting the front and back burners as there is on my old stove. But the two lines are still on the glass top and are very misleading. The controls for the elements seem to have little effect. One element has a "melt" feature but it is scorchingly hot. There is a three ring burner. But the small center ring is always hot, even when I set the three rings to very low. So the center of a large pan burns.

We bought this several months ago. We had the same range in our last house and love all the features. It cooks very well. We are very pleased with the appliance.

It's a fair oven. Nice features but drawbacks.

This seems to be a good oven. It has nice features such as the warming pad, and a section of two burners designed for a griddle or long pan. The power boil burner works very well. It is convection, and the control panel is easy to use. Also, it is nice that it comes with three oven racks. However, there are a few drawbacks. I have found the oven takes longer than my old one to heat to temperature, and it takes a LONG time to cool down, shut off. After heating it up to 350 for a test run, I shut it off, and it has been 25 minutes and the cooling fan is still whirring/ the oven temperature is still quite high. It isn't that loud, but if your dinig area is close to your cooking area, you might want to consider a different oven. I wish I had...

Hello. Thank you for taking the time to write your detailed review on your range. We are glad to hear you enjoy many of the nice features offered on your model, but regret you are not completely satisfied with its operation. We would like to provide you with our below link, which address the preheat time:
The oven cooling fan for the electronic controls is controlled by a thermostat. The cooling fan may run throughout the entire bake cycle and continue even when the oven is off. This is considered normal operation as it helps to protect the electronics.
We have shared your comments with our product design team. Thank you, again, for your feedback.

I love the burners. There are enough sizes to accomodate all pots and pans and they heat up quickly.

Love the Slate finish!

Really like the range so far. Looks great, and it fit great into the space. Very easy install. A few things we have noticed: the fan in the oven stays on a long time after we shut it off. I guess that it is too cool it down, which is fine, but its kind of annoying. Also, in the manual it says not to use cast iron on the cooktop, which is my favorite type of pan, so that is a bummer.

I bought this product in January because I purchased a refrigerator this color I December. The stove I replaced it with was also a GE and was still working after 28 years. My only issue is I wish I could have got a drop in in Slate as opposed to a slide in. My old stove was a drop in so we had to make some modifications, but it works GREAT.
