Great looking range!

This range has taken me a little while to get used to since I had cooked on my previous range for about 24 years. The eyes on this range get hot almost immediately and then after a while they cut back on tempature and then they are back to red again. I know it's the thermostat trying to regulate to a certain degree, but it can be a bit confusing trying to keep up with the adjustment. Also, the oven tempature runs a bit lower than said tempature, but that can be reset according to directions. I haven't tried to clean my oven yet, so I have no opinion on that matter at this time. I like the drawer on this range, although I feel it is too flimsily made for a GE product. I really like the flat cooking surface and its ease of cleaning. I have and regularly use my iron skillets, but I am careful not to scoot those or my other pots around, or across the surface. Overall, I like this GE range and will continue to adjust, and just maybe it will last me many years t come.

Stove top quick heat up time.

Only had a few days , everything is working fine still getting used to all the bells and whistles. The only problem I see so far is the control panel is a crumb collector. Crumbs can get behind trim. For this I only give 4 stars.

Not what you expected

It can be very difficult to control the cook top heat. With some practice this can be accomplished through trial and error. Deciding on what you are cooking and what type of pot you are using minimizes over cooking and boil overs. It is a learning curve. My biggest gripe is keeping the cook top looking clean. The best answer is to use a stainless steel cleaner on the cook top. It seams to remove cooking residue and makes it shine. Another problem that appeared only a week after purchasing is annoying. Streaks form between the glass panels on the oven door. A service technician came out to inspect the problem. The technician provided instruction on removing the oven door and dismantling it to clean the streaks from the inside of the glass. He said it is a common problem and not a defect. He also ordered new glass panels to be used down the road. This range is marginally acceptable for cooking. I would not recommend this range to anyone. Just not worth the price.

Large oven

I replaced a slide-in stove purchased 14 years ago. This oven is large and has no lower coin to worry about ! BUT the class top is not as high of quality as my last one. This glass top is difficult to clean and requires care when using it. Other reviews mentioned the noise of the oven fan - really not an issue for us.

Do not buy!

I have had my range for approximately 7 months and have had the repairman here 3 times. He has changed a part and adjusted the temperature controls. He tells me ways to try to work around the oven design flaws such as heating over the desired temp., but these methods do not work or solve the issue. Apparently, the oven is not broken but simply working according to the poor design. The oven heats and cools in cycles so that it does not maintain an even temperature. Probably fine for cooking a roast over several hours if you keep a careful eye on the roast but when baking cookies or anything that requires a short cooking time you need a consistent temperature. If set to 375 degrees, it will drop to 320 degrees before it eventually reheats to a desired temperature and then drops again. Cookies turn to melted mush. The top and bottom heating elements cycle leaving the tops and bottoms of cookies either over cooked or under depending on where the elements are in a cycle. I rotate cookie sheets but it is not a sure bet because the elements cycle. The stove top burners also cycle leaving the choice of too hot and burn the food or not hot enough. I used to love to cook but dread it now and avoid it often. The repairman tells me it is the nature of electric ranges with electronic controls. NO! I have been cooking for over 40 years and have never had this issue with any range I have ever used. The fan vents to the front of the stove and on to me if I am cooking something in the oven and using the stovetop at the same time. Clearly the engineers who designed this product have never cooked in their lives. It looks lovely and would be a fine range for a show house where the range is actually never used.

Sleek looking and works amazing

We purchased this slide in after a house fire. Products looks awesome with it sleek design. Works true to temp. Really like the 5 burner and convection oven. 3 racks onside with lots of room. We are so Thankful and Blessed after everything we went through. I'm giving my mom a break this year and cooking Thanksgiving Dinner. Truely Blessed!

Dream come true!

I'd been looking forward to replacing my old range for years, so when it finally gave up the ghost recently, I was amazed to find so many choices available with fantastic new features! I always check first with Consumer Reports for their ratings on almost everything I buy, and when I read that GE appliances rated as the most reliable brand? I focused entirely on their models.
When I found their slide-in range with convection oven and both steam and traditional self-cleaning features; five burners with so many heating options, and by far, the most attractive appearance, I had found my dream come true! Four months later, I am still in love with every single feature of this range, and would recommend it above any other choice.

Best Range Ever!

We looked far and wide for a range that would fit our counter top. The GE was a pleasant surprise! The oven top stays clean with the cleaner and sponge included. You must use this cleaning solution every few days. We have had the range for 4 months and I can still get the stove top looking brand new. Cooking is very fast and efficient. I would recommend this range to anyone!
