I have done my research when I started thinking about replacing my extremely old steam cleaner. I had a hoover for 15+ years and just thought it was time to get a new one. After considering all options, even buying one of those rental machines, I decided that I would get this hoover. It has done an awesome job! As the owner of two puppies, my carpets had been taking a beating with the housebreaking. I highly recommend!!!!

What's great about it: Does an awesome job!

What's not so great: nothing yet

Works better than the rentals!

I wish I bought this steam cleaner a long time ago. I've rented steam cleaners many times, and they don't come close to what this steam cleaner can do. My husband tracked grease on our beige carpeting, and I didn't think anything would get the black footprints up. This steam cleaner did the trick. It was easy to use and the carpet looks great! With two dogs and a baby on the way, I think this was a great investment. The only thing this would not be good for would be cleaning an entire room at once. I have only done spot cleaning with it, and the tank runs out pretty quickly. I need it more for spot cleaning, so that is fine with me. This was a great deal for the price.

What's great about it: Price and performance!

What's not so great: Tank runs out to quickly to do a full room.

I would recommend this to a friend!

Never knew we lived in a pig stie

Had read other reviews and bought based upon the reviews. First room got so much "dirt" not dirty water, but Dirt, that I realized we must have been living in a pig stie. Had a Bissel before and thought it was getting the dirt out but it was just the surface dirt not the deep down dirt. As one reviewer put it, this baby REALLY SUCKS and it does. It got up dog hair, ground in soil, my son in law thought we had bought new carpet. There are more expensive models but for us this one is the one!!!!

What's great about it: Suction

What's not so great: Some parts are thin plastic

Got a Good One

The first one I purchased did as a lot of reviews said leaked and the scrubber's middle brush fell out, therefore I could not finish the job. Good old Best Buy (I Love Them) switched it right out and I have used the 2nd one twice and LOVE IT. It does a great job! I have a dog and cat and with the combination you need something that will do the job and this machine does just that. I use the pet formula from Hover, leaves the carpet soft.

What's great about it: It actually heats the carpet which drys fast and makes it soft, not much heaver than my Dyson.

What's not so great: Nothing.

I would recommend this to a friend!

Uses a lot of the cleaning fluid, so stock up. Not too impressed with the attachments, so it does not perform as well on carpeted stairs.

What's great about it: Cost. Performance.

What's not so great: Attachments. Not great on carpeted stairs.

This rocks -my toddler ravaged carpet looks new

Works great - supplied jug of cleaner good for about 3 rooms
Carpet comes real clean - if extreme stain area may need stain remover/brush but it got a ton of dirt out of each room even ones I dint think were really dirty - every change was dark water. READ MANUAL: - CLEAN MACHINE after each use -see manual, do not store wet, run cleqar water thru soap dispenser parts once done to ensure machine gives you years of life or soap supply lines will clog as with any of these machines- carpet came real dry after a few passes -better than old one my parents have

What's great about it: works great

What's not so great: people that dont read manuals complain a lot

Good for the price

After lots of research settled on this model for best in performance for the price. We had an earlier version of the same thing that lasted us 15 years. Finally had to break down and buy a new one after years of service and abuse. Cleaned the carpets as well as the professional we hired months earlier.

What's great about it: Price and performance

What's not so great: Very clunky...a chore to get it out an use it.

I would recommend this to a friend!

Very satisfied with the Hoover Stream Vac.

I've used a Bissell Steam Vac for years. I wasn't really satisfied with it because it would not pick up the water and stay wet for hours, so, I decided to try out the Hoover Steam Vac. I am so glad that I did. This Steam Vac picks up most of the water and the carpets are dry within 1/2 hour. I love this product!!!

What's great about it: Everything!!!!!

What's not so great: Nothing
