This steam cleaner exceeded my expectations. It would have cost more money to hire a professional cleaning service, and I think I got the carpet cleaner than a professional would. This was a great value! Definitely worth every penny. I couldn't believe how dirty the water was, even when I used water only for the optional rinse cycle (no carpet cleaning solution added). I have to say, I actually had fun doing this. I was also amazed at how much water the Hoover sucked back out of the carpets- they were dry in no time! I would highly recommend this steam cleaner. I wish I had gotten it sooner!

What's great about it: Got the carpets cleaner than I expected

What's not so great: Have to empty tanks frequently

I would recommend this to a friend!

Severly dissapointed.

I read all of the reviews and was excited to get a decent working machine and for the first three uses it did just what I had hoped.

Now it stopped sucking up the water air blows out from the end not in and the attachments do not work.

At first I looked for a switch I thought I hit to reverse the suction but there is none and alas this Hoover turned out just like every other hoover

I do not recommend this at all.

What's great about it: When I first got it it was fantastic

What's not so great: Stopped sucking up the water after the 4th use

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

AMAZING!!

This Stemvac works great! I had debated getting my carper cleaned professionally and I am so glad I did not, and decided to buy this and give it a try. The one thing I did realize with this machine is that when I went over the carpet with the solution it worked great, but if I let that dry then went over it again with just hot water it did WONDERS!!! My carpet in areas was BLACK and now it looks like new!! I cant believe this cleaner got my carpet looking like new again... instead of me having to hire someone to do it professionally. Highly Recommended!!

unbelievable outcome

I haven't had the carpets in my apartment cleaned since I'd moved in...5 years ago, and lets assume that I've spilled everything from Anchovy Dip to Zucchini Hummus on them. This thing cleaned em!!!!! I couldn't believe it, figured for clean carpets I'd just move. I passed on the Hoover brand Cleaning Solution and used LA's Awesome the first run with Pine Sol to finish the job, looks great, smells great, was 3 bucks \o/. Assembly was a breeze, only needed instruction to figure out where the 3rd nut went. Its extra. Bad thing is it 99.8% Plastic (0.2% being the screws and i'm guessin there ain't a whole lotta metal in those) so you need to avoid crashing into furniture while gently installing tanks. I saw a lot of complaints about suction, I can see why. You have to make sure your tank seal is free of debris and properly seated, if not it doesn't work. All-In-All this machine is great.

What's great about it: it works

What's not so great: plastic

I would recommend this to a friend!

I used it once. It worked quite well. No problem operating it. Liked that it was upright. I used to have a canister shampooer that was backbreaking.

I went to use it again the next day and the vacuum would not suck up the water. the carpet stayed wet and messed up the laminate floor underneath very sad. Now it sits in the closet waiting for me to deal with it. .

What's great about it: No bending. Not too heavy. Cleaned pretty well.

What's not so great: Vacuum part stopped working after the 1st use!

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I live in an apartment with three dogs,one is newly adopted and not completely housebroken. In addition, lots of mud has been brought into this house from the rain and snow.
Unfortunately this apartment has white carpet and shows every little stain.
The Hoover Steamvac truly has changed my life. I use it frequently and my carpet looks near to new. It has gotten the dog odor out of the carpet.
I love it so much I purchased one for my mother for Christmas.
Well worth the price. Easy to use. Does an excellent job cleaning.

What's not so great: Lost suction second time using it, but able to correct myself (loose part)

Miracle Worker!!

First of all, I'm not really one to write a review.. As a matter of fact, I have never in my adult life written a review. But after using this machine - I felt compelled to say something. This is by far the best cleaner ever. This was my first carpet cleaner purchase so I don't really have another product or brand to compare it to, but I was really impressed with the results. Even my children commented on the carpet's appearance compared to how it looks when the professionals clean it. I have always had my carpet professionally cleaned. Never again! Use this and you will not only save money, but you won't be disappointed.

There are just a few small / minor drawbacks - It is heavy! I don't have stairs so I didn't have to worry about that, but it does take some energy to lug it around. Secondly, you will find yourself going thru the cleanser pretty quickly and lastly, some of the parts, particularly the hose, kept falling off and getting in the way. I simply removed it. Don't know that I will have much use for it in the future. But enough griping.. these are all just minor things to expect, but I promise - the job that this machine performs will compensate for the drawbacks. Plus, the carpet dries extremely fast! And it doesn't wet or soak up like when the professionals do it. I am def a happy camper and would recommend this product to anyone seeking a good carpet cleaner.

What's great about it: Easy to set up, carpet dries quickly, works wonders..

What's not so great: The extra parts (ie. hose) can get in the way during the job..

I would recommend this to a friend!
