I bought this machine on 11/6/10 because it was on sale and I read great things about this machine here.

I have a 1 bedroom apartment which has carpets which haven't been steam cleaned in over a year (although I use the vac about 3x a week)

Got it home, it took all of 5 minutes to put it together (3 screws all in all) plugged it in and got to work.

In my bedroom I had to empty the tank twice and there was about an inch of dirt caked at the bottom that my vac has left behind (needless to say I am getting a new one after this experience), The living and dining room were just as caked.

The carpets have gone from looking HORRIBLE to like new in one cleaning, I am going to do another run through with this tomorrow just to get whatever I need or left behind with the first cleaning.

If you are in the market for one of these, this little econimical machine does wonders, easy to put together, easy to refill, easy to clean after you're done.

Don't waste your time shopping around, buy this if you need a steam cleaner!

P.S. Only downfall is that I thought it came with the bare floor attachment, however it does not, but that really doesn't take away from the performance of the machine!

What's great about it: Easy to put together, Works like a machine that costs 3 times this.

What's not so great: No bare floor attachment (have to order)

Good buy!

Based on the reviews I went with this one, and I have to say, this machine is amazing! Got a lot of stains/dirt out of my carpet and it looks brand new. The dirty water was black - I can't believe how dirty my carpet was! I probably won't use the attachments (I just bought it mainly for my carpet)

There is some assembly required, but not too difficult - if you can read (and follow)directions, you'll figure it out.

Overall, I am happy with my purchase. While it is a little expensive, I'll recoup the expense after a couple of uses.

What's great about it: Heavy duty, comparable to a professional cleaner

What's not so great: Extra attachments I don't need

I would recommend this to a friend!

THIS MACHINE IS A BEAST!!

After going through two Bissell's, I decided to go with a Hoover. This machine is well worth the money!! Add a little oxyclean or quick-n-brite to the cleaning solution and you will be amazed!!

What's great about it: Cleaning Power

What's not so great: Hand tool is a little quirky...

I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Product

I bought this instead of having a service come to clean the carpets. It works great. I found that the Resolve Carpet Shampoo works about the best. No problems after many uses and plan to clean all carpets in the house about every 6 months. The only drawback is small water containers and having to stop and change them quite often. However this is how they manage to keep the product compact so it is a fair tradeoff. I read many reviews of different products before my purchase and this was the best reviewed product and I was not let down.

What's great about it: Price, Quality, Ease of Use

What's not so great: Small waste water container

I would recommend this to a friend!

This cleaner works!!!

Let me start by saying that I used to clean the carpets in a hospital. That being said, I have to say this little thing really works. OK, so the name is misleading, it doe NOT produce steam. it merely heats the water. but compared to the commercial extractors that I have used in the hospital, this little guy picks up WAY more water than those other machines. The spinbrush attachment is really handy for getting the edges of the carpets, and upholstery. The only downside I can think of is the one gallon capacity. But seeing how you can use this on stairs, and the fact that almost all home machines have the same one gallon capacity, it might not be such a negative issue. If you are thinking of getting a home carpet cleaner, I can't think of a better machine than this.

What's great about it: No belts to break. Gear driven brushes

What's not so great: one gallon capacity

I would recommend this to a friend!

I am so happy.....

I bought this carpet cleaner today and I am very impressed. My husband told me I would be wasting our money, but I went ahead and bought it anyway. It did a WONDERFUL job with some really touch stains. My husband even told me I was right and it did a very good job.

I did do some of the recommendations by other owners and heated water in a tea kettle to make sure the water was very hot. I am not sure it made any difference, but my carpet looks new again.

I didn't mind the smaller clean water and waste water containers. As a woman, it would be harder for me to handle anything much bigger by myself. In the past when I rented machines, my husband would have to help me or even do it himself because I could not manage the heavy machine. Not this time, I did it all myself and feel sure now that I can clean my carpet anytime I need to. Yeah!

What's great about it: Size and ease of use.

What's not so great: Didn't come with hardwood floor attachment.

I would recommend this to a friend!

Disappointed with Hoover Steam Vac

The Hoover gave poor performance cleaning my old berber carpet. It cleans the upper surface but doesn't get the dirt out on the lower surfaces of the carpet.
Even after many runs, there remains significant and visible dirt on the lower (canyon) surfaces of the carpet. Where before the dirty carpet had an even dirt grey color, now the top surfaces is cleaner but much of the dirt remains in the lower zig zag channels of the berber carpet. The view is not pleasant.....lots of dirt grey zig zag trails throughout the carpet.

I discovered that the spin scrub brushes are free floating and do not exert any pressure on the carpet. Thats probably why it doesn't get out the ingrained dirt lower down from the carpet surface.

What's great about it: Stair tool

What's not so great: Frequent changing tanks, doesn't clean berber carpet well

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent Buy!

This steam cleaner is excellent for the price. Assembly took 5 minutes along with setting it up for the first pass. This unit is very powerful for its size. The water container is rather small, but it allows you to pass at least 100 cubic feet at a time. Whenever using this unit you have to remember to air tighten the catch container. If you have rugs, this unit is well worth the price, it is a better buy than having to rent the Rug Doctor. The rug doctor would usually cost us around 65 dollars; this is along with the upholstery connection, and tax. After use, I would recommend to lay this puppy on its side. This will allow the under carriage to dry for storage. The containers were easy to clean after use, the connection hoses are a little cumbersome for storing, but they can easily be placed in a box somewhere. As far as cleaning power is concerned, a single pass did a nice job cleaning a majority of the dirt off the carpet.

What's great about it: Cleaning power, small size.

What's not so great: Its a little loud, just wear ear protection.

I would recommend this to a friend!
