Very good product

The printer is great in all features except one - it will not print C6 envelopes (6 3/4 size). If one uses these small envelopes to pay bills, an address label will have to be used. If this one feature would be corrected, the printer would be classed as fantastic.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Poor setup instructions

The setup instructions were no whereaS CLEAR as with previous printers. If this were my first printer, I would have had to call in for help. The lack of a printed msnual is a minus. It is hard to find an item in the on-line manual. How about a search window?

The printer does all I wanted it to do. I have no complaints. I like it as well as my old HP 1100.

Great connectivity (except USB connection setup)

Great initial performance (first month). Inconvenient having to carry and connect to every computer to install drivers (Wireless) . That is the reason for wireless connectivity.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Close...but too complicated, yet too simplistic???

I have what I would call an above average understanding of technology. But after an hour trying to get the printer's wireless connection to work, I had to call in my friend who owns a tech company to get it working. The printer has limited setting controls on the machine itself. The printer was a BEAR to setup on my new laptop running Windows 7 Pro. It does work great with my iPad and son's iTouch, with one exception. It keeps going into power save mode and I have to go turn on the printer each time I want to print and we have the printer tucked away in another room. I thought I adjusted the printer's settings via the PC but I will have to spent another 30-60 min to figure it out; not very intuitive at all.

Okay for its class--shop brands
on December 15, 2012

Not really ready for Windows 8--HP even recommended using Microsoft built in driver instead of the HP. But basic functions work and I've had three of these--two broke within one year--one because foreign matter got into machine and cracked a roller. the other was a case of the grinding noise for no apparent reason syndrome. I've had a couple that have workhorse for about two years so far. Shame they didn't put a wired-network connection on the machine.
print cartridges last far shorter than other brands with comparably-featured machines but you expect that from HP. So, definitely shop around for prices on this and other brands with similarly featured machines.
