Awesome product

This was a replacement for a older "other" brand washer we had. The turbo wash is awesome. Love the different load sizes available. Quiet running. For those who complained about the noise on washer filling up. Buy a water hammer kit at local home improvement store. They screw right onto the water fill area and work great. This washer is a huge improvement from what we had. Would recommend this to anybody looking.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use

Works perfectly, including the load balancing
on June 15, 2017

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This washer was delivered about six weeks ago, and it works wonderfully. A typical load takes only about 37 minutes. Unfortunately, six weeks ago, the appliance dealers' installers also forgot to put in the screws attaching the washer to the pedestal washer I also bought, letting me test this full size washer's advertised load balancing feature, which worked perfectly. Whenever the washer started shaking while spinning, the load balancing constantly turned off the spin and gently rotated the clothes until the washer could spin without significant shaking. Two days ago the dealers' installers finally returned, installed the missing screws, and the washer now spins smoothly on high. I'm very glad I bought this washer.

Disappointed

We bought this washer about three months ago and have used it many times. It appears to be well made and is attractive. However, two aspects of it cause us to believe we made a mistake and should've bought a top loader. First, the water level never gets above an inch into the drum and large loads aren't close to being immersed. We rinse three times, as you can smell residual detergent if you don't, and we've cut our powdered detergent volume down by half, to a minimal amount. Second, you cannot wash highly absorbent cotton items, such as a small bath rug, with or without additional items such as a couple of bath towels, because the machine will not spin due to the weight of the load. We've not had this issue with these items with top loaders covering a period of 40 years.

Flooded my laundry room after 45 days of use
on May 29, 2015

This washer was purchased, delivered and installed by a big box store along with the matching LG dryer. After exactly 45 days it has started pumping water out of the bottom instead of the drain hose. It appears the drain plumbing (hoses, pump, etc.) inside the washer has failed. My last washer, not an LG unit, was still working fine after 14 years; it had just gotten a little worn and ugly. In fact, the household that inherited that washer is using it today and I'm waiting days for a repair person to arrive just to look at my brand new washer. My point is how can I trust this product at this point? Even when it’s repaired I’m going to be afraid to close my laundry room door while it’s in operation. This washer has a number of features that are nice, but pretty standard in this size and price range. The premature failure makes me think it’s not a great value in the long run. This will be my last LG purchase.

Quiet and Efficient with 1 Caveat

Just got this. Some cycles take a long time (1hr:46 for sanitary cycle), but there is a turbo cycle that is done in 24m. Large tub should fit King size comforters along with sheets. Easy controls. Very little water used. Solidly built. Little to no vibration. Clothes come out minimally damp so drying seems shorter than with my previous washer. Make sure you get water hammer arrestors made for washers (try Sioux Chief). They have washer fittings and they fit between the washer and the incoming hot/cold water lines. If you don't get these the fast shutting valves in the washing machine may cause your pipes to hammer loudly.

Another Piece of Garbage

I was excited to buy the washer and dryer set, but I am totally disappointed. The washer does not spin the washer out and is noisy. The doors on both washer and dryer are flimsy. I have spent a day trying to do my laundry with error code after error code. Not worth the time and effort. I am returning the units. There has to better quality out there.

We have had this washer for 2 years. For the past year we have noticed it smells musty- we have cleaned out the filter several times. Today I pulled the rubber door seal forward and found lots of gunk and mold. I have wiped it in the past and we keep the door on the washer open to prevent this. Super hard to clean, I’m not sure what I am going to do now!!!

Leaks from orange turbo wash spout
on November 17, 2015

This LG washer WM4270HWA leaks from the orange turbo wash spout for about 6 hours after the wash finishes! I exchanged it for the same model after a Geek Squad exam noted leaky valve and recommended exchange. The 2nd LG had the same leak! It's impossible to keep the rubber dry because of the leak. It even leaked through to the floor. I have now scheduled a return and ordered a different brand. We have an older, discontinued LG in another location and love it. I am very disappointed with this LG model. Compared to the older model, the clothes also seemed very wet after the last spin of this model. I'm writing this review to inform potential customers of the problem with model and to ask LG to take a look at this problem with the WM4270HWA. I wanted to keep it, but could not put up with the leaking.
